He's 7 mate but is footy daft watches all sorts of **** on YouTube (should add old footy **** not just random stuff haha) and plays as a striker himself so he knew about Defoe....and you're probably right it was my buzz rubbing off on him for Keane :emoticon-0102-bigsm

I must admit my little lad isn't that into football, but that's down to me I reckon.

As I'm absolutely raging at the fact I could have no arguments with him supporting one of the best team in the country or world as they are his local team and all his other side of the family support them. I hate any team having any success that isn't us.

I really dislike Liverpool as I have to listen to their fans (family included in that) talk about (until recently) not seeing your team win the Premier league be some big tragedy. Whilst at a similar age I have watched and followed this ****e!

Well thought of by Preston fans it seems.

    Plays attacking. High press. Etc.

Has been promoted through playoffs twice.

Apparently undone because the board sold his best players.

You can spin it however you want, but he's better than McCann for me like.

I’d be surprised if you found a single Sunderland fan to disagree with that.

McCann would be a shocking appointment.

My best mate PNE supporter just text me that virtually word for word, sold his best players and replaced them with dross.

"Alex Neil would be a great appointment for you. He was probably one of the most tactially astute managers in the league, he would often change systems pre and mid game in order to combat the other teams strength. We was one of the best pressing teams in league under him.
He developed our young players and improved them into much better players. Ultimately he was let down from the owner, our top goal scorer sold in January when we went on to finish 1 point outside of the players. He got us competing with one of the smallest budgets in the league. If he had been backed properly then he’d still be with us and we’d be doing a lot better."

From a Preston fan over the road in that dark shadowy place.....

Saw someone on Twitter say I don't think anyone would have been against Neil if he was appointed within days of Bolton, it's the way they've got our hopes up the last 10 days and then cocked it up.

They really need to sort out these leaks to the press!

I agree. I felt a bit excited when I read about him on here - nothing for the others.

    Problem for our new manager.

Too soft, no defence, no keeper, and a bunch of slackers who would prefer to remain in D1.

And little money to spend, and the window has closed.

As opposed to sacking LJ Xmas pre window etc.

Recuitment isn't the Head Coach's job so it's unlikely to have made much difference to the January window mate.

I agree there are problems with the squad, although 'prefer to remain in D1' is just overly emotional bullshit like sorry. Their confidence is shot to bits. They need reorganising and motivating.

Neil apparently had an immediate impact at Norwich and Preston. Give the Roker Report interview with a Preston fan a read. Sounds pormising.

".... all trust in those running the club destroyed."

He can get f**k*d, he speaks for himself ...

... never hesitates to exaggerate and stick the boot into the lub.

I'm as p****d off as anybody as 11 days is just not professional and in fact damaging us in the process. However i'm not going to judge either side until we get some facts. Maybe Keane needed to get his support staff out of secure jobs and, it was proving impossible and we waited to gave him the time to build that team until it was clear we weren't going to sort it before Saturday .Its not clear of its the clubs fault right now.
