You might be right. It's just always been interesting to me. All those unique grounds that changed bit by bit over decades. There's not much to stir the soul in a new build, as convenient and comfortable as they might be.

Worse old ground: Layer Road. Though Baseball ground was up there. Coldest: Mk Dongers hockey stadium.
Hated Leeds Road. I don't think I saw a City win there, but the memo isn't what it used to be.

Oh. One more old stadium that was pulled down. Clandestick Park stadium. Give yourselves a tick if you know where that is.

I've got about six or seven successive Football Grounds from the Air books from years ago, and there was a post Hillsborough/Valley Parade stadium building boom. Interesting to look back at them now and again. :emoticon-0100-smile

I think Chester counts as three. :emoticon-0105-wink:

Coldest ground has to be Hartlepools.

Very true. I just had a look on google maps, and smiled when I saw it was next to 'pleasureland'.

Fur lined parka. Wooly hat and gloves required in summer. Ground is right on the edge of the North Sea. In winter gale force winds whistle through the ground and polar bears huddle for warmth next to the tea bar.

True. Next to a beach is it? Though Gayfield Park is apparently the coldest in Britain.
    Great name, an'all.

Converted cow shed atop a muddy bank. And dug into said mud pile, half a dozen or so concrete plinths with a bar to lean on. I don't think they were there to help in a crowd surge, more in case of mud slide.

Thank you forbringing that joyous memory to mind. Aaaaaarrrrrrghhhhhhhhhh
