We deserved to lose and nothing has changed, the club is a mess, the transfer window did not result in anywhere near enough. The players are still mentally weak and the squad is still unbalanced, Conte picked the wrong team and the tactics were negative, on that showing we are nowhere near good enough to take advantage of an average Arsenal, United and West Ham Some of our defenders are championship quality and failing to upgrade any of them in January is gross incompetence, none of Royal, Sanchez, Davies, Hojbjerg and Winks are good enough often enough, a good game followed by a comedy show, that kind of inconsistency is no good. Barcelona must have been laughing all the way to the bank when we took Royal off them, he is a complete carthorse at both ends of the pitch. The only positive from that shiete show was that Bentancur looks a player, Kulusevksi we have not seen enough off yet but early impressions are his weakness is a lack of pace and is hopelessly one footed.
I agree which is why it baffles me when a lot of fans hype up the average players. Lloris, Kane, Son, Romero and Skipp are top 4 standard. The rest aren’t. Bentancur and Kulusevski will hopefully prove to be good signings but the rest should be no more than squad players.
Terrible result tonight, 6 points before the city game were a must. Absolute must win by hook or by crook on Sunday, especially if they go above us tomorrow.
Still don't understand why you sold us Walker-Peters. Not complaining mind but you've had poor players in that position for a while.
I know some of you have enjoyed Emerson Royal's buckaneering, attacking style of play, but whenever I've watched him, he has looked a serious vulnerability at defending. He's still young and may refine that aspect of his game, but for now, I am certainly glad we chose Tomiyasu ahead of him.
Loved getting soaked to see an absolute disasterclass from Hojbjerg, Winks, Sanchez and Emerson. Both CMs should’ve been off before HT, how Winks played 90 is beyond me. Horrendous the pair of them. Bentancur has to start on Sunday, absolute tragedy if he don’t. And Harvey White too.
I don't expect much more at the moment, 1 is better than 0 though so at least we are moving forward slightly.
