Winks and Hojbjerg are nowhere. No idea what to do or where to do it. Lucas closely resembles latter day Dele Alli. Defence looks shaky. It's not easy watching.
This game desperately needs a half time change. Fix the shape, get Bentancur on for Lucas (who is having another run of poor games) and try and slow it down a bit to play through them. 2 in midfield isn’t working and we just seem to panic and rush in possession because there are so few options.
I know we've improved under Conte but in all honesty if this performance was under JM or Nuno all hell would break out. He needs to change the system before we concede again.
If some Spurs players appear for the 2nd half without black eyes or bleeding noses, then Conte is not doing his job.
Conte needs to take some blame for this. If this was under Mourinho or Nuno we would all be baying for blood
I’ve seen some **** spurs performances in my time, and bloody hell there are a lot to choose from, but this one is right up there. Making them look like Man City!

If I was a Southampton fan I’m not sure I would be buzzing with the performance or devastated to not be at least 3 ahead. Conte does not look happy!!
Terrible half, other than Lloris (and even he had a moment), hard to pick a Spurs player who had a decent half. Changes required Bentancur for sure and maybe Doherty.
Correct. The pressure on the back line is relentless because there is nothing in front of them. Winks and Hojbjerg may as well be sitting in the stands.
We just don’t have the midfielders for a 2, either in or out of possession. Neither of them are fantastic at beating a press and getting the ball forward and while they both work hard, they don’t always have defensive discipline and you’d have to be Kante x2 to overcome the gaps that exist from being outnumbered.
Really, really poor from us. Southampton had us from the kick off and have wasted a number of great chances. We're a long way from being the team that Conte wants to build. Half of this team needs upgrading and without Skipp in the team, playing Winks and Hojbjerg in a midfield two, is just asking for trouble. Bentancur has to come on and replacing Lucas with Kulusevski wouldn't be the worst idea, either. As it stands, we're gonna get deservedly well beaten.
I think Southampton have had their chance and they blew it. The second half will be different. I hope.
Not seen a team take us apart like that for a long time , they deserve to be 3 up at least , time for AC to do his stuff
