..... and there's not just Wigan to consider, there's teams like MK Dons and Sheff Wed who have come up on the rails. I'm not worrying about what other teams do, that's out of our hands. I just want us to do our job successfully and see where it takes us.

Maybe the delay is for to allow Roy to grow his angry beard for his introduction.

I'm still behind the club's plan of buying young players. For me the problem has been 5 years of managers and some fans accepting crap performances while we were winning. Play well 8 or 9 out of 10 and you'll be in the driving seat most of the time.

I just hope Roy brings with him a coach that is in touch with the modern game.

I see Bolton won again. I can see the sneaking in to 6th place as the form team and going up. There's often one team that makes a late run

You have to assume that if it WAS Roy Keane it would have been announced now.

I'm preparing myself for McCann or Lennon

This is a very good post. Why are we only focusing on out of work candidates when there are a plethora of managers in work who would be better welcomed than the alternatives to Keane, and perhaps Keane himself seeing as not everyone wants him either...

We all know this will be spun as doing it on the cheap etc.

Yeh this is where my head is at. Think Neil or Lamouchi are more likely than Lennon though. McCann my most likely now.

I'm actually hoping there is a candidate we don't know about, that has impressed at interview and who is currently employed and it is this that is holding things up. Doubt it though.

Yep I think with the negative press and noise over the last day that if it was going to be Roy Keane then they would have announced it this morning. The longer the day rumbles and the noise coming out the club is silent points more towards McCann for me but they want to somehow put a positive spin on it.

Won’t wash with me though. Not Keane and I’m done. Not to be dramatic but I just know it would be doomed for failure. The club need a boost somehow and it needs the big name to give it. I knew Johnson would fail and I knew Parkinson would fail, it’s not football knowledge it’s just knowing how the club works. We need a name to get behind. McCann or Neill or Lennon and those names wouldn’t wash and the first goal we conceded the SOL would be toxic.

So it’s my fault then? Would you be unhappy playing crap and winning the league? Chelsea did it under mourinho. They were awful to watch but won the league. Most would accept that. Me included. There’s no way that fans accepting poor play and winning is to blame for any of this. Or would you prefer we boo them off the field after a poor performance and win?

Anyone in L1 are capable of a run/loss of form tbh ...

... our squad has more than enough quality to go to Wigan and win imo.

Where did I blame you specifically???

You don't win things by playing **** the majority of the time. Chelsea under Mourinho were not a **** team. They got the game won and closed shop. What a ridiculous statement you've came out it.

You could say the same thing about Lennon or McCann to be fair. Neither are in a job, so if it was going to be one of them, it could also easily have been announced by now.

Just looking at Liam Manning now. Before MK Dons he was in the City Football Group and he's done a video explaining how CFG wants to control possession, be on the front foot and have a high press, sound familiar...?

Lommel were previously bottom of the league when he went there and within his one season they finished 3rd and now look at the job he's doing at MK Dons. I'm not saying Manning is the coach we need but everything seems to jump out about him. Links with CFG, he can continue the style of play we supposedly want to play and he's had a career bringing through younger players. I'd certainly take a punt on him than McCann, Lennon etc. if it isn't to be Keane.

The more I think about it (guilty of doing to much of this today) the more I think Keane isn't at all the fit this club needs in terms of structure and philosophy.

Keane will be in for the weekend and everything will change.

We have real quality in the shape of Stewart, Defoe, Roberts, etc and once we start playing a quicker passing game, in the opposition half, we'll beat most teams imo.

The atmosphere at Wimbledon could be epic.
