Not sure it's flapping to call out the chaos and dysfunction clearly on show. We have a DOF who has never done the job before, having been in charge of youth development at a smaller club previously. He is clearly failing, and, as much as he seems to enjoy spouting forth blizzards of superflous syllables, there is no sign that they know what they are doing.
Deodorant 2's post earlier "Speakman is vile, absolute poison. He’s up there with Charlie and Donald for me."
I’m not sure it matters who gets the job now, there’s been serious damage done to the supporter relationship that will take some undoing.
I think (and there is a massive "IF" in this statement) that had we won the last 3 games like w should have done, no-one is even mentioning Speakmann Results on the pitch always dictate what we talk about the next day
Feel the same mate , had Keane got the job even before last night there would of been a reaction . Feels like we never leave this never ending cycle of ****e and mismanagement
It needs sorting today then if we want someone in for the weekend. He needs at least 2 days to work with the squad.
needs sacked he was only highly thought of as he was lucky that he was head of acadermy at Birmingham when Jude Bellingham came through
I'll see it as a failure or success at the end of the season. Not every time we have a bad run of form.
I agree mate, but I would go further. If Keane turns us down or can't come to an agreement due to other commitments, then as you say, turn to a Warnock or Micky Mac to come in until the end of the season and see where that takes us. They might be able to make us more difficult to beat and therefore ensure that we make the play offs. Both of them are vastly experienced at Managing a football club. At the same time, I would get rid of Speakman. All season he has left us woefully short in defence and up front which has led to very young players having to play far too many matches. They are quite frankly burnt out. Injuries haven't helped, but that's part and parcel of the game and the squad hasn't been utilised as well as it should have been. For example, Younger could and should have been used more to give Doyle a break. Other than Pritchard, his experienced recruits have been woeful and we don't have a single leader in the team. This latest transfer window has made the situation worse and his manager recruitment process has been a PR disaster. Not having anyone at the club capable of taking over after a manager has been sacked is criminal. Use the time between now and the end of the season to sound out a new DOF and a new manager who would be available from the end of the season. Have them working together behind the scenes to identify new targets, both in their playing and coaching staff, with a mix of young players and experienced leaders and make us ready to start next season with a bang, whichever division we are in.
They have to get this right. They have today. There wasn’t one song last night for Grant McCann or Neil Lennon. Those heroes last night indicated which way they need to go. Get it wrong and there will be max 25k there for the next home game and that will all be on Speakman.
