Both have been poor recently and could do with time out the side as youngsters but we’ve got no one to come in.

cirkin been poor since he came back from injury and Doyle just appears to be shot of confidence. Wright can’t get back soon enough!

not sure what the left back answer is though

Might be an unpopular opinion but I think Doyle is ****e anyway.

Weak as piss, doesn’t win many headers, always fannying about with the ball at his feet, has no pace and zero urgency.

The experienced tit next to him isn’t any better like.

I think the only option at LB is Gooch. I actually think he had some of his best games this season when playing LB/WB a month or 2 back when Cirkin was out. Someone said at the time, it's because he doesn't have to think too much when playing in that role, he gets the ball and gets rid...

As for the left back position, Huggins can also play there but still out injured. At a stretch, we have Xhemajli who is left-footed cb but who khows? Danny Collins was a cb but I believe he played majority of his games at left back for us especially in that promotion season.
(Reidy also somehow played Schwarz at left wing during 1999/2000 season as well.)

That’s definitely not an unpopular opinion. Saying any of our players are not **** is the unpopular opinion at the minute.

I dont agree with that at all, the lads only 18 and shouldnt be expected to play every single game for us so far this season including all Cup games aswell as starting every game for England U20s.
His only experience in football before this season was playing for Citys U23s. He shouldn't be expected to play as much football as he has. He was excellent first half of the season, but you can see that mentally things are taking their toll on him.

Our recruitment has totally fecked up with this, we should never have been in the position where an 18 year old needs to play every single game.

Its time to start introducing Xhemajli into the first team.

The so called system to fill the squad with kids whose "stats" were excellent has backfired dramatically. These are not bad players, but they are kids learning their trade in a club with abject management from top to bottom, I hope the club does the right thing by these kids before their confidence has been broken beyond repair by Sunderland

Big difference between age group football and first team football, no matter what level you're at.

Im sure Doyle will go on to have more success over the next 10 years than we do.
Its a sad sorry situation that we're in where we are relying on an 18 year old to get us promoted. We should have started the season with 2 big strong experienced CB's, somebody in the mould of Beevers, who Peterborough had last season, and Doyle should have been 3rd choice.
Buying an experienced quality defender or even better 2, should have been priority for us in the summer.

You have to pay money for quality...

KLD is a tight ****. He won't even spend on the ****ing pitch. Speakman is ****e, signing a load of kids with talent but no experience hasn't worked and he sealed his fate for me when he let Younger and Flanagan leave without replacing them.

Speakman should have gone before Johnson.

Doyle will be a bit burnt out but him and Cirkin are both good players. Get some confidence back in the team, start winning again and our defensive problems will magically disappear.

I'm not going to turn on KLD, because I think he's the type of owner that we need. Clearly got enthusiasm for it. But the recruitment of players has been patchy. Some of the signings have been inspired, getting talent that wouldn't usually play at this level to join a League 1 side. But there have been gaps in the squad that have never been dealt with.

They need leaders around them, didn't see any last night. Evans as captain is a joke.

This is one of the main things I'm noticing at the minute, there's not 1 leader on that pitch. They don't talk to each other.

Johnson said he had so many leaders he formed that stupid leadership group, laughable.
