The Hammers needed extra time to see off Kidderminster Harriers 2-1 on Saturday, while Roy Hodgson's life at Vicarage Road began with a goalless stalemate away to Burnley. Talk about a heartbreaking way to exit one of the most prestigious competitions in football - Kidderminster Harriers did the non-league landscape proud as they pushed West Ham all the way at Aggborough. West Ham may be the ones with their ball in the pot for the next round, but Moyes and the travelling party would have been less than impressed with what they witnessed for the majority of the contest, as a number of second-string players failed to repay their manager's faith in them. please log in to view this image While the FA Cup took centre stage during the first weekend of February, relegation candidates Watford and Burnley demonstrated exactly why they are battling to avoid the demotion to the second tier after playing out a drab goalless stalemate in torrid conditions at Turf Moor. In what was described as a "baptism of fire" by returning veteran Hodgson, Watford managed to record their first clean sheet of the Premier League season at the 21st attempt. It is now 10 games without victory in the top flight for the Hornets, though, as they enter the midweek round of fixtures still below the dotted line in 18th, Norwich City are only one point clear of Hodgson's men having played a game more. I have been wondering how our shape would change with Dennis available again and Sarr soon to be back. Maybe his interview gives us some indication of the way things will alter. https://www.watfordfc.com/news/hodgson-were-ready-to-go-again
4 - 3 - 3 Probably Sarr, King and Dennis with Pedro and Hernandez on the bench as impact subs The hardest choice for him and the most important are the midfield three that is where we could lose or win games as they have to protect the back four and provide service for the front three
We have been unable to stop goals with 4-3-3 so far this season. Expect another similar performance and players for Tuesday. Dennis either from the bench or start in place of King. Personally I think from the bench. We will continue to learn Roy's tactics and play as tight as possible whilst being able to break and score.
I just hope tonight none of our players get booked or sent off for doing to Zouma what he did to his cat If you haven't seen the video he picked up his cat and drop kicked it like a goalkeepers clearance because it broke a vase, and worse was to follow If Moyes picks him, then I hope he gets what he deserves, in football terms not in any other way
I'm going tonight for my first match since the FA Cup Final (thanks mainly to COVID). I'm rather excited about it, despite the inevitable disappointment later. Is Zouma out? Surely he can't play tonight. If he does, I'm planning on meowing rather loudly whenever he gets near the ball.
Sadly West Ham probably won't be as bad as they were on Saturday and will field a stronger side but like to be proved wrong.
Afternoon all. Attending this with Watford mates. Can’t say I’m expecting much from you as my Watford matches so far this season have been West Ham and Norwich at home. SHE SAID MEOW ZOUMA SHE SAID MEOW
The Met Police have decided not to investigate a video which showed West Ham defender Kurt Zouma kicking his cat across his kitchen floor. It is up to the club now. They really need to step up and show this is not acceptable.
Enjoy the game folks..... Let's win this one for my friend and Watford supporter Nick who passed away this morning after a long battle with cancer... COME ON YOU HORNS!
West Ham boss David Moyes, speaking to BT Sport about whether the video of Kurt Zouma on social media this week influenced his decision to play the defender: "No, because he is one of our better players. But it is certainly ongoing and the club are dealing with it, so that is a separate matter."
Sorry you lost a friend Yorkie. I see that WH will be remembering a small girl who has just died. All very sad.
