Yeah remember him playing for them against us a while back, think that’s where our initial interest came from.

I know Tariq Lamptey is high on our wishlist for the summer but this Djed Spence would be a fantastic cheaper alternative. So direct and quick.
Ally Gold said Paratici was planning on seeing Spence and Johnson ( who also looks a terrific young player) today.

We reportedly made a bid for Spence on Deadline Day, but it went nowhere

Not least because all we could offer was a buy-and-loan-back, given while we could sign him on Deadline Day we couldn't play him until next season

Apparently Paratici planned to attend the game between Forest and Leicester to scout Johnson and Spence according to Ally Gold, if he did actually go, I reckon he’ll have been impressed.

Spence could definitely have a place in the squad here over Doherty. I really, really like Johnson too but with Lucas and Kulusevski on that right flank, it’s hard to see where he’d fit, unless we loaned him out for a year or so and then replaced Lucas with him in due course.

A £15m asking price was mentioned last Monday, so even if he added £5-10m to that it still works out as less of a gamble than Lamptey or Aarons given the former is £50m while the latter is surely in the £30-40m bracket

Paratici was reportedly watching two players at the Forest/Leicester match, Djed Spence and Brennan Johnson

Dortmund signing Sule at the end of his Bayern contract, that usually happens the other way round!

Briefly linked with us so we can now rule him out.

Decent player, was linked with Chelsea too so glad to see he won’t be joining them.

IMO Sule would struggle in the prem, he is a good defender in the Bundesliga, but has not been great for the national team and his lack of pace might have been an issue if he came here.

Is Hummels retiring? Because if he is staying there will be some quick strikers in Germany rubbing their hands at coming up against the 2 of them.

On the plus side, that does mean we're spared Alan Shearer trying to pronounce his name every week on MOTD

"Bale suffered a hamstring injury in September and then picked up a calf complaint after winning his 100th Wales cap against Belarus last month,
but he has returned to full training ahead of December’s Madrid derby with Atletico."

Therein lies the Faustian pact a club makes in signing Bale.
If the deal with Spurs became permanent, you can guarantee
    it would go < standard > .

That's not a risk with a big effect though as he counts as club trained so doesn't limit us signing any other player apart from the 25 man squad limit which we probably will be nowhere near anyway.

If the financials work and he is fit enough for Conte then it’s a no-brainier. His quality is still simply outstanding. Maybe it’ll be the kind of thing where he trains with the team for pre-season as a free agent and Conte assesses him then.

I’d doubt the finances will even be much of an issue now to be honest. He’ll be 33 by the start of the season and I’m sure he’s smart enough to know that he won’t be getting anything near the £600k at Madrid - with any club let alone us. Besides on a free transfer, we could easily go up to £250k-£300k for a year’s contract if we wanted, not that I think we’d need too.

If there is any truth in that rumour Yoss posted (gotta be honest it feels doubtful at the moment) then finances could already be sorted. One thing I will say and not sure if anyone else has noticed it, Spurs have posted a fair few Bale clips of late, could be teeing us up for something big but I don’t wanna get mine or anyone else’s hopes up… yet <laugh>
