SMC rates are split, so they need to be picked out and added together, but they're viewable on the link at the bottom of this page. https://cmis.hullcc.gov.uk/cmis/HullCityCouncilOpenData/BusinessRates.aspx
How much are the rates, water bills, electricity, gas, insurances, staffing costs, maintenance costs etc ? are they all zero too ?
You mean the costs that FC contribute to paying? We use the ground far more than them and as a result pay more of those costs. It really is rather simple, but maybe I'm just a simple person.
Water bills negligible - free recycled rain water facilities built into stadium design. Next step is to generate hydroelectric power from the water source.
My point about raising the issue of rent is we have a rather generous deal with the Council as it is in their interest to have the premium sports clubs in the city playing in a top quality facility. It's not done on a commercial basis as there are intangible benefits to the deal for the betterment of the city. Whilst not directly correlated, not forcing FC to shoulder half the costs of the stadium is similarly in the best interests of the City. Beyond that, as OLM has pointed out, they use the stadium far less than us, and thus asking them to pay effectively more than their share just seems rather silly. There seem a lot who can't stand rugby league, and that's fine, they don't have to attend the games. I can't remember the last time I went to one over here and we have supposedly the best league in the world. But that doesn't mean that those who enjoy it should be deprived the benefit. The MKM is, as I understand it, the biggest and arguably best stadium in England where RL is played, surely that's a badge of pride for Hull?
There must be a problem somewhere with the running costs of the stadium to have a court case pending.
I asked you because you seem to know everything else. I didn't mention rents, I quoted the rates. There is a difference.
Why should it be badge of pride? Should we then feel ashamed that in the 21st largest city in England we only have the 36th largest stadium? Should Coventry feel pride in the fact that the Ricoh Arena, which the union club Wasps own, is the largest stadium where rugby union is played?
