I heard the deal on the table before the take over was a 50/50 split on running costs of the stadium between both clubs. Pearson didn't want that and ran whinging to the council wanting them to intervene, and of course Daren Hale took up the case for them. I don't know what the outcome was but I'm sure there was a court case pending ? The FC financial situation doesn't sound too healthy either with memberships down by 3,000 and an expected lost of £1.25m. There may be trouble ahead........ One diehard FC fan was telling me today that the feeling amongst FC fans was that there was a stadium pass in the offing, meaning one pass for both sports. Which tells me that they are expecting some sort of leg up from the expected increase in City's crowds.
I was reading on their board that their tickets are already among the dearest in the super league, and slightly more expensive than ours at £28. https://forums.rlfans.com/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=637140&sid=cf198839fa0a36d08a69b39410f4ffc5
a stadium pass might be quite sensible actually not my cup of tea but long term (generations) if you wanted to undo some of the petty FC hatred of City then getting youngsters to support both maybe isn't a bad move?
away fans largely saying that £28 is a reasonable price, and it's the 'league's best stadium' and best views
I reckon if they do, you'll see the pettiness when you're stood in the east stand next to an FC Fan with the opposition scarf on.
I think it's a mixture, but the point was that they already pay more than us, and that would have to increase for them if there was to be an even split.
I think their membership is down by around 3,000 for the upcoming season. RL itself is crumbling across the board, and Sky have basically said make it entertaining, or we're dropping coverage of it altogether. I don't think it'd take much for Adam to move on rather than trying to chase a loss. There's some opportunities there for our new owner.
They play about half the games we do and have a fraction of the income, there's no reasonable basis on which they should be paying the same as us.
