See, there you go again. You think you know everything. You don’t know the first thing about me. I haven’t brought politics into this once. All I’ve done is stood up for what I consider basic freedoms. You don’t know if I’m left wing or right wing. You just assumed I’m a right wing lunatic from the start. I have been trying to stick to the topic of the chat, which is that vaccine mandates for covid are wrong and immoral, and none of your smugness, cherry-picking studies or condescending attitude has done anything to change that opinion. Which is an opinion that many, many people hold, not just “white nationalists” you insufferable bores. I’ll say it again because you’re clearly not getting it: Just because someone disagrees with you doesn’t make them a conspiracy theorist white nationalist.
I don't think that anyone who disagrees with me is a conspiracy theorist/white nationalist. However, I do believe that the people with lengthy paper trails showing them being conspiracy theorists and white nationalists are indeed conspiracy theorists and white nationalists. Edit: hadn't seen Chilco's post, I'll leave it there.
To clarify, I absolutely didn't call you a white nationalist. I called the white nationalists who constitute a rather significant portion of the leadership and public face of the 2019 and 2021 convoys white nationalists. Because they are. Faith Goldy? White nationalist. Soldiers of Odin? White nationalists. The Diagolon separatists? White nationalists. The Plaid Army? White nationalists. I don't believe that you're a white nationalist at all, but I believe that you have been led into believing that they have similar aims to yours. Fin.
Everyone must have seen this from the ONS, you know a reliable source of information... https://www.ons.gov.uk/aboutus/tran...foi/covid19deathsandautopsiesfeb2020todec2021 This means everyone else during this time had at least 1 pre existing condition or they died some other way. That's how I take that information. I'm sure I will be told to take it another way and yeah I could look at that and say the others died with other issues but still because of Covid, but surely that's just ignoring the other issue. If someone has cancer and gets COVID, then dies, is it COVID or cancer that killed them? Without cancer would they have survived, without COVID would they have survived? If someone is hit by a bus and has COVID, did COVID kill them or the bus etc? You can say the same about the flu, about chest infections, high blood pressure, blood clots, about all sorts of illnesses and ailments but we don't, just COVID, people are obsessed with it, like they need it to be so bad to justify having 3 vaccines, it's actually insane. In my opinion if you're healthy, you will almost certainly be fine, older people have to take it more seriously, as do clinically vulnerable people, just as you take the flu more seriously. The vaccines barely do anything except cause more issues for people (of which I'm one of them). Children should not be getting jabbed, government need to ****ing leave them alone, get rid of the masks completely, my son's school still makes them wear it when moving from class to class. We all need to get back to being humans again, sharing our smiles or anger with each other, so much communication comes from the face, it is so important for children especially to be able to see others. We shouldn't be arguing with each other, inferring some are left, some are right, some are like white supremacists, WTF guys, opinions are opinions, facts are facts. My opinion is JWP is an awesome player, fact is he is equal 2nd for direct free kicks scored in Premier League. My opinion is that A Armstrong needs to be given more time, fact is he hasn't had a particularly settled run in the team. My opinion is Portsmouth are a ****e football team, fact is that Portsmouth are a ****e football team.
I agree that ONS is a reliable source of information. Here is ONS, debunking that tweet: https://blog.ons.gov.uk/2022/01/26/...have-died-from-covid-19-is-highly-misleading/
Exactly. As an example of that, I have lived with Type 1 diabetes for nearly 55 years and I am well-controlled and relatively fit and healthy. I am at no serious risk of dying from any complication of diabetes. However, were I to die having caught Covid, as tens of thousands of diabetics have done, Covid would not be listed on my death certificate as the sole cause of death. Because I had a pre-existing condition. From which I am not currently at risk of dying from.
Guess what. I’m fit and healthy, and I have a pre-existing condition too, which is why I got called for the vaccine early. Here’s another thing. I have genuinely got no idea what that pre-existing condition is. I suspect it might be because about twenty years ago I had a slightly fatty liver (very common) because I was drinking a bit too much (I was in my late twenties). I now don’t have a fatty liver. In fact my liver function is excellent. But if I died of/with Covid, I wouldn’t make that list either. If people are that convinced that that information is the ‘gotcha’ that it isn’t, why not get the sane information for another virus, let’s try HIV/AIDS. Because you’ll find a similar pattern, that the majority of people will have died from pneumonia. I do agree we need to get on with our lives now, and largely we are. So…yeah…not convinced the argument needs to happen. But frankly those numbers don’t mean a sausage.
The other thing the conspiracy folk seem to ignore is that in a society orchestrated by rabid capitalists, why on earth would the government willingly pay millions of people to stay at home and even shell out billions to the self-employed in non-repayable grants so they didn't have to work? What did the government gain from that? No one I know was placed under any kind of surveillance, supervision or coercive control, and everyone was free to spend the money as they so desired. Now excuse me for being a thicko but I can not see what kind of advantage the government gained over us by handing out all that dosh. I think most folk on here know me as a hard nosed socialist and I truly hate everything the Tory party are, and the way they behave with such arrogant spitefulness when in office, but even I never imagined they would dish out the dosh to keep people at home. Their beloved money being given to us lazy worthless scum? Surely something was really out of kilter for them to do that? Their precious economy, the greatest of all Tory gods, not only being suspended but slammed into reverse gear to feed the people for free? What on earth could cause such an event? Oh yes, a pandemic with people dropping like flies all over the world. We couldn't go to the pubs or restaurants, we had to stay at home and sporting events were cancelled and there were restrictions on what we could and couldn't do. It was actually done to foster a sense of 'we are all in this together' and 'we have a collective responsibility to each other', which for most people with a brain cell, was not unreasonable and was viewed as a part of caring for our fellow citizens. The fact that the idiot Boris Johnson and his cronies were taking the piss all through this and doing what they told us we couldn't is not surprising because they really do believe they are superior to us normal folk. They just demonstrated that they really are a pathetic collection of gormless ****heads and have about as much chance of joining the human race as I have of walking on the moon. No chaps, there is no government conspiracy to control us. There was blind panic in government that if things got so bad that the NHS completely collapsed, we all might be asking questions about why it has been raped and pillaged and flogged off piece by piece to private health companies? The notion of massive social protest against the government is the thing that really scares the crap out of the Tory twats and a wrecked NHS is about as bad as it gets for them. We are governed by complete ****ing idiots and collectively they don't possess the intelligence to scam all of us. Covid is real and it continues to kill thousands of people every day and if that is hard to believe then just go and spend some time with the relatives of those who died. You might just get a different view on things.
This was updated 06-02-22 I posted it on a different thread Sunday. Covid passports are a fact of life for travel worldwide and entry to venues and events in the countries visited as is the wearing of masks. In my experience there's no inconvenience and I don't feel my rights have been infringed at all. Anyone considering foreign travel needs to be sure they comply with current regulations of their destination. https://www.theguardian.com/travel/...-uk-travellers-warned-about-covid-rule-traps?
Just tested positive for Covid today. Had minor symptoms for previous 48 hours. Trible-jabbed. 39 years old. Can I kick this in a couple of days or am I looking at longer than a week?
Che, as with all these things, 'It depends'. It probably depends on you, your work, etc, but in practice, if you don't feel unwell, you could carry on as normal, with the obvious proviso that you could still be infectious. I you are testing yourself/being tested, via a Lateral Flow Test, you may return a positive result for five days, possibly longer. If you do test positive, the previous government guidance was that if you subsequently test negative after 6 days, and after 7 days (ie two days in a row), you are clear to continue 'normality', in whatever form that takes. If you continue to test positive, once 10 days have passed, you are not considered to be infectious (hey, I don't make the rules). Just to emphasise that nothing is ever simple, my mother-in-law used a Lateral Flow Test, showing that she was 'negative', went into hospital, where a PCR test was undertaken, which showed her to be 'positive'. Further Lateral Flow Tests returned negative results, and another PCR returned a positive result. In short, it depends on where you are, what you are doing/likely to be doing, and what method you use for testing. Apart from that, it's pretty straightforward...
Hope you get of lightly but it seems some suffer more than others irrespective of age and health. A medicinal dram or tot may be in order
I know a few recent sufferers and none were really poorly...described as a cold with a sore throat. People’s attitude to it has changed as well...hearing that someone has Covid now is greeted with polite sympathy rather than major concern.
