Be some attention seeker making things up Could do with some reassurance however @Wheatsheaf @Prehab26
That's ridiculous by Keane if so! If everything else is good enough then take the contract do well and you get a new one! Keane won't be sacked on promotion cause we think we can gey better his profile means as long as the team is performing as expected he is golden and won't be replaced. Unless he turns out to be ****e or having a fight with the owner again he could be here for the next 10 years if he wanted.
It appears to be an unfounded rumour but tbh if we're only offering a short-term deal until the end of the season I wouldn't blame him for turning it down. He'd have to give up his lucrative pundit work and ok, he could probably return to it but will feel a bit **** going cap in hand for his old job back.
He'd want a longer deal because if it goes tits up he'd get a big pay off. Why leave a cushy well paid job in tv, do **** at Sunderland, and be left with no job, reputation hit and with little to no financial compensation to soften the blow?
You are right. I didn't write that post with that short of a contract in mind, I was thinking 18 months which is still short for a manager. In regards to the pundit work I assume he is going to be taken a pay cut to come here so shows a desire to gey back to the job as opposed to staying where the money is!
be ridiculous if Speakman wrote Keane is a poopoo head in his notes when interviewing Keane and Keane accidentally saw these notes ! I’m absolutely fuming at this thought.
Not a chance any full time manager is getting 6 month, that would be an interim/ caretaker role and that’s not what we’re offering.
I don't think contract length has anything to do with it, unless it is until end of season then review!
Think we can all go to bed then. It's not Deadline Day, no-one announces this stuff that late at night
