I reckon he’s the only lad who will get a bit of Lee way if we don’t go up this season and then given the chance to blast this league next season
You’re absolutely right there. Having Keane next season if we fail to go up would actually cover Speakman & KLD’s back and save them A LOT of grief imo.
Also by the players. End of the day whatever system they set the players into we still had more than enough quality out there to beat or at least draw with a team bottom of league one at home.
Then he won't get the job. There's no point employing someone who won't work under the system in place. It would be a massive waste of time and resources to rip the whole thing up because one bloke who you might want to employ doesn't like the set up.
TV Barnes also said Defoe wasn’t coming back and was signing for Oxford. He knows as much as the people in the club want him to say.
Im really hopeful its keane and the announcement is soon but what I'm more annoyed with is the managers linked, like mccann. Why not set our targets high on managers with good records in the championship, like jokanovic. Sell them on how big the club is and what it could be like when we get things right. If a manager comes in now and does fantastic, gets promoted then they'll be a championship manager again in 6 months time. Aim high, set our targets high snd act like the big club we are rather than league 1 parkinson esque appointments. We done it with players getting rid of league 1 plodders, now its time to do it with our manager.
We'll see soon, but this has not looked like the behaviour of a competent outfit. If they really are having second interviews, (which I doubt, but why say it?), then I cannot see Roy Keane consenting to one. Nor should he, or any candidate actually. If they have all met the decision maker once, that should be enough. This is not hiring a new guy to work in the accounts department, where you have thirty people applying and you know nothing of them before the advert gets posted . There is a lot of public history of all the named candidates. One interview should do the job. Anodyne and superfluous buzz speak from a DOF doesn't help, but hopefully it's not that bad and the delays are just a matter of getting both ends right.
All sorts of people could have been under consideration. Have the club confirmed its between McCann and Keane?
I think you are right. Anyone else now and I think for a majority it would be a come down. Much bigger than not getting Poyet. Whatever the outcome there a fee little things the club need to reflect on and learn lessons for next time, even down to the owner apparently liking a post abou Keane. Speakman talks about a process, which I dont mind, but it actually feels like we dont have one for this, or that we have allowed ourselves to step away from it.
It does seem that most fans won't be happy with anyone other than Keane now. It concerns me slightly though people are beginning to talk as if Keane is bigger than the club.
I think tomorrow will show a lot. Keane has no media commitments so if it’s likely in any way then he will be in the stands watching. If he’s not there then the second interview situation appears to be correct.
No confirmation just going off everything that has been reported and the names linked. Just think we need to be aiming higher than those names supposedly linked. We're in a decent position for promotion, use it as a selling point to someone that they do well now they could be a championship manager very quickly
Monday Night Club on 5 Live are going to be talking about Keane and Sunderland programme is on for 2 hours like so not sure when exactly …..currently talking about boreham wood and the FA cup games from the weekend
I reckon KLD is pushing this as I think he did with Defoe...... Letting his heart and the buzz in the media/town rule his head so the process is being ignored. I think Speakman will be more about the process........ At the end of the day its KLDs club
Rubberface over the road hinting that Speakman has ****ed it up. He's been adamant all throughout this that Keane will sign.
