Interesting doesn’t work the other way round either, that club rivals don’t pass to each other when become international team mates as well. Spain circa 2010 when had 11 players all from Madrid or Barcelona managed it just fine.

Thing is, they’re also on total opposite sides of the pitch with firmino between them who is normally the link up. So during open play they aren’t going to pass to each other often. And in terms of passing for scoring chances, it’s the full backs that create most our chances so it’s not like an old school 442 where you’d expect yorke and Cole style link up (irony being they also couldn’t stand each other but formed one of greatest partnerships in the prem).
