Egypt way too negative for me. There's only so much Mo can do in a team that doesn't support him in the way we do - it's as though they expect him to do it all himself and that's too much. He's been peripheral for a lot of this tournament, but it isn't his fault. Mané, on the other hand, is an integral part of a much better machine and they deserve to win. I still hate penalty shootouts though, it's so hard on the guys that miss.
It’s not been a fantastic tournament, certainly not quality wise, but I’ve enjoyed watching quite a few of the games, unless Egypt have been involved, then it’s been dire. theyve sucked the life out of games until the opponent has finally capitulated.
Not sure it was already over his head, but anyway: amazing penalty by Mane, especially in the circumstances. Unstoppable.

Looking at top scorer / assist list for prem so far this season. Goals 1. Salah 16 2. Jota 10 3, Vardy 9 Tied 4, mane 8. Crazy good from our front 3 this year. then assists 1. TAA 10 2. Salah 9 3. Robbo 8 Going forward stats wise, the 3 forwards and 2 full backs are just absolutely destroying it this year. Unfortunately just not been quite there defensively for what ever reason.
no layers of defence V the top half of table. Gaps you can drive a bus through. Its alright going forward but we need to score 3 a game to be sure of a win v the top half. the bottom half though are getting absolutely destroyed. we are better than city against the bottom half sides. (they have drawn 2 games) The gap such as it is (call it 6 points if we like) is down to losing to west sham and leicester. whatever it is in what we are doing we are wide open to the counter as there simply is no layers to our defence. Everyone goes at the ball to win it back no matter who they are and its one v one at the back as the CBs are do far apart theres no cover at all. Whatever that 5% is thats missing is tough to fix without knocking the goals scoring back but i personally feel it is in the no 6 role where fabinho needs to sit in and just fill that gap. ESP if henderson/elliott are playing RW to cover trents sauntering efforts through the middle A lot of the time though we are taking risks in transition in our own half and are just trying to make breaks when we are 2-0 up and losing goals like v chelsea. its all about tweaking and improving as city are what they are. League cup final CL last 16 FA cup 5th round 2nd in league with 10 point real gap to 4th. It all says interesting months ahead.............. most clubs would kill for that position.
The thing is. Go back 4/5 years and we’d kill got a shot at one trophy. Klopp has turned us into competing every single year for at least 1 trophy (last year maybe not quite so much) but it’s now now unheard of for us to be challenging for title in second half of season and looking one of favs in Europe. Add in the unexpected domestic cup runs this year. Yea we may come away with nothing but we’re a team that’s challenging on consistent basis now. Like you say, most clubs would kill to be in this position. We’ve also strengthened brilliantly last year and have some much needed depth and competition now so can only get stronger
