Ah well. Given he's been part of Brighton becoming a very stable, profitable PL club (look back a few years at how Brighton were doing) then I'm cool with this. A solid appointment and will give some much needed experience - and when you consider our PL future isn't secured but he's willing to join, again says a lot about the project. CEO next.
Brighton fans seem gutted, West Brom fans are saying he is immensely good at his job... Everton fans think he is going there. Is it official that he is joining NUFC?
To understand just how good Ashworth is, you have to read about what he’s done in terms of setting up an entire football strategy at Brighton. If you’ve landed him you’ve done well imo, as Potter gets the plaudits for what’s happened at Brighton but the real genius is Ashworth imo.
I'm not interested in the effect the weather might have on his personal life, just what he can do for the club.
Very demanding personal terms, but I guess he knows the club has money, so if they want their man then so be it.
I see Overmars has just resigned from Ajax because he apparently sent some inappropriate texts to some women at the club. He certainly did a good job at Ajax considering they were seemingly always getting raided for their best talent every season, so he had to constantly rebuild the squad.
Good choice. Knows how to build a club from the ground up. Very well respected. Top appointment and just as important as any player we have signed.
I wonder how long this "extended garden leave" clause will be binding for. That tweet above says he'll join "in the coming months".
