After the much famed winter break Norwich restart their quest for survival against Crystal Palace. Some much needed life was breathed into the Norwich campaign in January and they will be looking to keep it going into February before facing the top two in consecutive fixtures.

Palace won 3-0 in the corresponding fixture and it was a dismal Norwich performance albeit with a squad decimated by illness and injury. Both teams won in the cup at the weekend so it will be interesting to see how they line up and whether there is any rustiness in the system. Palace currently sit mid table 13th, Norwich hope to still be out of the relegation zone by the time they play and eagerly look to try and pull other clubs into the scrap.

In total the teams have played 115 times, the first of which was in the FA cup in 1914 resulting in a Norwich defeat. In total Norwich have won 44 times, drawn 21 and lost 50 and our recent record has been pretty dismal. Norwich's last win came in 2013.

    We want more this:

Less need for this... but you have to laugh, our long suffering away supporters, you do us proud

Palace are another team that we struggle to beat the last game was horrendous but that game in all honesty should have been postponed like many other fixtures as both sides were missing most of their squad due to the sickness.

Confidence has returned and I'm sure Smith feels this game is winnable with a little bit of composure and fortune .

After this we play Man City and Liverpool twice with Southampton sandwiched between them .

3 points could definitely keep us above the dreaded relegation zone if results go our way .

Watford haven't won in 10 games since smashing Man U 4-1 back in November and Ranieri is probably close to getting sacked already .

Newcastle have spent big but haven't brought in enough "Premier league class" to be scared of and Burnley aren't exactly hitting form either .

Drag Brentford into the **** and they could easily fall apart after a great start .

I would much rather have a massive wobble at the start of the season and bounce back than implode at the the business end of the season.

Southampton will be a massive game , coming thick and fast we play Brentford and Leeds which are also winnable, Burnley and Brighton also.

What about massive early wobble AND late season implosion?

    Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Go sell your Mystic Meg doom mongering elsewhere, you are a broken record.

Your opinions would probably be better suited to the Ipswich boards .

Ranieri has already gone and been replaced by Hodgson. He drew his first game in charge at the weekend 0-0 with Burnley.

Doom mongering? How does that fit with this, which I posted on December 15th on the Villa match thread, replying to Farked19 who was questioning the managerial change:

    (1) Are we improved on the Farke team? Yes we are. We don't just "look" better organised defensively (Suffolk Canary), we are better organised defensively (e.g. FBs more restrained, Normann playing more as a DM than under DF) and there has been noticeable improvement in our pressing (how and where we press) and ball recovery. Under DS possession is less of a sacred cow, which means we have been getting the ball forward more quickly than under DF, and off-setting the more frequent loss of possession by improved ball recovery high up the pitch (Sargent a big contributor to this). None of which we managed to sustain last night given the huge number of absentees.
    (2) Wouldn't it have made more sense to have stuck with a manager who has twice proved he can cut a swathe through the Championship? No. What is the point of "cutting a swathe through the Championship" only to find yourself back having to do the same again the next season but one? With Dean Smith in charge we have improved our chances of survival this season, maintained our chances of an immediate return to the top level next season if we don't survive, and improved our prospects of survival at the top level the season after that.

There's nothing doom-filled there; it's all positive. But then, you thought Ranieri was still at Watford ..........

There was even less content than normal, anyone know how to add in a poll after you have started a thread or do I need to make a new thread?

No no no nothing doomy about this ?

You even capitalised AND to force the point that you hope and expect the implosion.

Watford are on their 3rd manager , I knew Ranieri was fired I meant Roy is on the way out .

Wrong. Nothing doomy at all. Just a bit of fun pointing put that you had ignored a third possibility.
Try being less trigger happy Duncan <cheers>

So you aren't doomy at all ?

You have repeatedly posted that there's no point in sticking with Farke because even if he managed to get us back up in a few seasons he's out of his depth In the Premier league.

You have written off this season as relegated and insist that this temporary run of wins will end with implosion.

Of course if we do survive you will pretend that you knew all along that we would with 20 20 hindsight.

You never participate in match day threads unless we lose then after the game you are all over it .

    Whatever floats your boat .

Or you could try admitting you’re wrong on occasion. Or even that your choice of words could have been better - that would be a start - you wouldn’t even have to admit being wrong if you went with that.

Couldn't you guys (RER and Canary Rob) try disregarding or ignoring his deliberately contrary and
self-opinionated comments. The way it's going, nearly every thread ends up as a bickering, sniping
contest and I'm getting well jarred off with it, as I'm sure are other contributors.
The 'ignore' button still works fine for me.
    Thank you <ok>

Whoever plays at LB for us will have their work cut out to contain Michael Olise.
He always looked good at Reading before Palace activated his £8.37 million release clause.
Destined for bigger things, with respect, than Palace.

Edit - According to Transfermarkt, his current value is 16.20M
