It was mental round there in the early 90s. We were naive as **** going out in Manchester 18/19 year olds.

I ended up living spitting distance of Maine Road around 1996- 98, in them terraces. It was wild. Nice enough by day but the streets were rammed full of dealers and users by night. All armed - loads of robberies. I still work around there now. It’s changed a lot - much more East African these days. Still a lot going on like.

Rotherham have scored the same number of goals as us too. I'd rather they won every match between now and the end of the season, (except us), and romped to promotion.

Wigan could still implode. They've kept the same number of clean sheets as us (9), although they've played 4 games less. A fixture pile up could lead to fatigue and a few losses, but we can't continue to make it easy for them, we need to apply pressure by going on a winning streak. In my opinion, we need 13 points from the next 5 to do that. They have Charlton, Sheff Wed, Wycombe and Rotherham to play in that time and could easily lose at least 3 of those. Then we meet Wigan at their place. If we fail to get the 13 points, then I believe we'll need to win down there.

It's far from over, but there are other teams like Sheff Wed coming up on the rails. We have to start winning regularly again. To do that we need the new boss in pronto.

If I got to do the interview, my first question would be:

“Roy, why didn’t you react when Alex Rae bounced the ball off your head not once, but twice, at Old Trafford?”

Nothing to do with the job of course, just intrigued by what he’d say.

I do not know Roy Keane nor do I know the inner workings of SAFC....but my educated guess would be, If Sunderland are holding "2nd interviews" then I would believe that Keane would tell them to stick their job where the sun don't shine. I cannot see him having any kind of 2nd interview with any club, let alone a 3rd tier club...just my opinion tho.

I don't believe there are 'second interviews' at all, not in the way you or I would recognise them.

We don't usually have to consider moving to a different part of the country, dragging along an entourage of staff, having an entire city hanging on your every word ...

... and do all that on what may be quite a short contract.

IMO the 'second interview' is simply running through a massive list of logistics and conditions to prevent anything biting you on the arse and causing embarrassment because something was missed. When there's an army of people forensically dissecting every word, from the club or the prospective manager, it's no wonder it takes a little time. Perhaps they'd like to consider what Martin O'Neill has to say.

“It’s a great fit because Roy had success there before,” he said. “It’s splendid news."

Speakman will likely try to bamboozle Roy by asking him about POMOs and the like!

    I'm in no doubt mate.

Too many people, including Keane himself, have been chatting about it for it to be incorrect imo.

“I WAS OPEN TO ALL THAT BUT I WOULDN’T BE DICTATED BY IT.

It was useful if a player questioned what you were saying about his game, or his stats.

If we didn’t think he was running enough, and he disagreed, we could go, ‘Well, we’ve got back up here’. Some players almost lived off the stats. They might say, ‘Well, I ran 15 miles’. And I’d say, ‘Yeah, that’s because you kept giving the ****in’ ball away’.” Roy Keane

It's really not like Roy Keane to stick his neck out and being embarrassed.

He's said he wants the job and would foolish if it doesn't happen, especially if the likes of Lennon got the job ahead of him.

Yeh Keane clearly wants it. If he doesn’t get it now it’s because we’ve chosen somebody else.

Speakman’s interview on Saturday was a weird one. I believe @Prehab26 entirely which is why what Speakman said makes no sense to me. Also Alan Nixon is a ****ehawk but he only ever tweets specifics rather than this cryptic ****e when he hears stuff, and he is still talking about a second interview for Keane this week.

It points towards different sources at the club leaking different bits of news to different people. Which is either an intentional and weird misdirection tactic or just points further towards the management and direction of the club being a muddled up mess.

Luke clearly hearing what @Prehab26 is. Which is why it’s bizarre that so many other journalists are reporting something else.

  19. We've not seen anything under this regime so far which has led us to believe the management is muddled...quite the reverse.
