Funny how the two richest teams in the draw get the easiest ties...

Probably need to thank St Nicholsons' 60s Spurs (13-2 and all that) .

We've only won it the 14 times, I'm sure it's only fair that other teams have a crack.

That reminds me - when did you last win the FA Cup? :emoticon-0100-smile

We don't have the benefit of having the same bent ref send off Chelsea players in the final twice, to be fair.
    Emirates Cup, indeed...

Longer highlights from the club's Youtube:

What was Emerson gesturing about when he scored?

A fix? Probably not. But I'd like to see the last time Pool or Citeh got drawn against a top 3 club before the semis. So while it's obviously not a fixed draw, I bet if you asked Darren Brown if he could set up a draw that appears legit but is fixed, he would say he could do it.

But back to my bugbear, and I make no apologies for saying it. THEY DREW THE NEXT ROUND BEFORE THREE OF THE TIES HAD EVEN BEEN PLAYED!!!

It's just plain wrong. If they've got a replay or the match got postponed for some reason (maybe Arsenal didn't think they had enough good players or something) then fine. But you shouldn't go into a match knowing who your next opponents are. Wrong wrong wrong.

Liverpool got beat by Utd last season in the 4th or 5th round. Pretty sure they also lost to Chelsea in a similar round the year before albeit I’m not 100% sure on that one.

Klopp generally doesn’t take the domestic competitions too seriously though, despite being in this year’s LC Final. Often plays a rotated side and moans about how congested the fixtures are.

I think City have had some favourable draws in recent years but then so have we.

What's the top 3? Those currently there, which is City, Chelsea and Liverpool?
Reduced chance as they are two of those three.
The fake Scouse got Utd in round four last season and Chelsea in the 5th the year before.

City's 3rd, 4th and 5th round draws over the past few seasons look a lot easier.
Swindon, Fulham and Peterborough this time, Birmingham, Cheltenham and Swansea last.
Port Vale, Fulham again and Sheffield Wednesday the year before.
Rotherham, Burnley, Newport and then Swansea in 18/19. That's the last Prem team in the early rounds.
The year before they were knocked out by Wigan, too. Beat Burnley to get there, so only them in five years.

While it is extraordinary that big teams are usually kept apart, I'm not sure how they'd do it. The obvious way would be cold ball warm ball but that would involve the collusion of whoever makes the draw. Would you trust Andy Cole, for example, never to blab?

As I already posted , some of it was tongue in cheek but both semis kicking off simultaneously is the correct way , sod the TV punters and the greedy TV companies
We have become used to the staggered semi's but Phsycalogicly there must be an effect good or bad on the teams playing second
In the league the teams in the Thursday Euro comps are always playing catchup then often forcer in to the Monday night slot ,mentally this will put pressure on those teams
