Watford played a whole match without conceding a goal. Public Holiday to be announced - probably 25 December knowing this Government

Norwich won away at wolves in cup , both had full sides out , that’s 3 on trot for the canaries , i can see them getting out of trouble , i see burnley down , then two from watford , geordies , bees , not very optimistic

Thought we were relatively untroubled and looked a bit more cohesive. Still gave the ball away too much and clearly are lacking in confidence in front of goal. I think we all feared the worst but the breakaway from our corner aside it never really looked like happening. A step in the right direction albeit a small one.

Pleased to see everyone is so upbeat, not, our first clean sheet, we had the better chances and the only winners were the weather and VAR, we are just one point behind Norwich now and the others around all have tough games to come, take all, the positives FFS, this attitude works down to the team and makes them panic. if we had this defensive perforce under Claudia we would be above Everton, at least now we will go down fishing or pull clear

Hopefully we can build on this point unlike after the Newcastle game.

Sadly not sure we will do enough but hopefully will at least give it a good go.

You're optimism is to be applauded, and yes we can all get sucked into pessimism , with Dennis and sarr back ,,and crucially , performing, we have the best side among the bottom four, but lots of ifs , west ham will be dangerous next , my fear is confidence will take a knock,,really hope to be wrong,,on plus side there is time and games,,but norwich are definitely improved.

A clean sheet and an away point are the positives from this game. Nothing else was good though and we look, to be honest one of the two worst teams in the league. West ham will be out to put in a good performance after their match yesterday. Norwich is on a roll nobody could imagine pre-Christmas and if Newcastle can blend their new recruits, with an Everton with Lampard that will win enough games, we are in serious trouble. Yes, we need an inform Sarr desperately, and hopefully, someone who can put the ball into the opponent's net regularly.

Dennis should be back for the Wet Spam game - if Roy rates him. We can only hope that he has learned to curb that rash streak of his.

I know what you mean, but it's that rash streak that probably makes him the player he is... and the world class superstar that he isn't... yet. Most excited I've been by a player since Ramage first weaved his magic for us. If anyone is going to upgrade the "it" that Dennis undoubtedly has to "IT", then Roy is the man.

I think we have more to offer than Burnley on that showing. We produced the few moments of quality. If we can get a tune out of Dennis Sarr and Louza ,we'll just about do it.
Back to my theory. Forget the 'top 6' games, win all home games and 1 draw away gives us 40 points.
    How is that going ?
4 home losses are compensated for by 2 away wins and 1 win against a 'top 6' ( Laughable I know but we did beat Manure).
Our home draw against Newcassel is 2 points dropped. 2 away draws means 1 more away draw needed & 1 more away win to compensate for 3 home defeats outside top 6( + winning ALL home games except Arse**) will get us there.
Will we win 7 home games ?

To reach 39 points we needed 5 wins, 5 draws and 8 defeats in 18 games, the teams below us have now got the run of games we had after Man United

If the results go the way they should this week a draw at West Ham will put us back where we were before the Norwich debacle

With Roy organising the defence we would have probably got 2 or 3 draws in that run after Man United and we would no be panicking like we are, the harsh truth is Claudia was given 4 or 5 games too many because the Pozzos were trying to be patient

The defence does look a lot more secure after just one game under Roy and as a team we have to build on that

We won't need anywhere near 39 points, some believe it will be as low as 31 but 34 is reasonable as it hasn't been more than that in over 5 seasons now. 28 points last season I think?!
