Agree fully, Glam We were lucky - very lucky - last year with ‘red’ cards helping us enormously. I’m not convinced by Pivac - as I’ve asked previously, which other Top 10 nation would have appointed him? The Six Nations win last year papered over so many cracks - we have a useless pathway structure for bringing young players through, the WRU has control over the Regions by holding the financial purse strings….. I could say more but …..
Unfortunately the game's gone as i dreaded. To get a yellow on your own penalty advantage is just stupid beyond belief. I agree on the ref, he's given them pens at the breakdown where at least a couple of times he's given us nothing for very similar infringements. It looks like it's damage limitation for the rest of the tournament. Let's hope Italy have an off day
Pivac went with an 'attacking' back line but we created zero try scoring opportunities. Re the defence I can't imagine what Shaun Edwards would have said today. Ireland must have been disappointed not to get 40 points today.
Forgot to add that it's a bit galling seeing the good work Steve Tandy is doing with the Scotland defence.
He moved arguably our best all round winger and played him (out of position) in the centre - Why? So that he could select his former Scarlet on the wing instead?
I’m delighted for Steve - he is a lovely guy with a lovely young family. He was given the gig to coach the Ospreys far too early in his career - solely to satisfy Andrew Hore’s idea of continual promotion from within: maintained by WRB when Hore left and promoting Bully to replace him in a job for which he was not really qualified …
Why should we expect more when, it seems to me that the Chairman is (probably) the most over-promoted geography teacher in history and he thinks that he has the (business) nous to select a CEO and then goes and over-promotes an uninspiring accountant….. It’s no wonder why the WRU is often called the Worst Run Union ……
