The new season is nearly upon us. I actually have enjoyed the break for some reason. I think it had something to do with the bad flavour that lingered after the season finale. Needed to move on from that debacle.

Hamilton has finally surfaced on social media. Hoping he's had time to put the crap behind him and come out swinging this season.

So what's with his clown trousers???? Just add a bit of blue and he has Red Bull colours on!

Great to see him back - hopefully he is confident that the FIA will make changes so the rules are clearer and less open to interpretation in the heat of the moment!

I think people read too much into stuff.

He had a holiday. Now he's not on holiday.

All the rest is idle speculation, no harm turning off all the "bull" (literally) he has to deal with and after a very long season to have a rest.

He has a team mate who will push him but who will no doubt make some mistakes, George still has his heart on his sleeve.
Without seeing who has done the best job on the car design and performance I am sure Lewis will be more determined than ever before. As I have said before, I, along with the rest of the F1 fans and paddock, don't see him as a quitter.

His driving is better than his fashion sense that is for sure!

He would never quit - I did wonder if a season out was on the cards but perhaps the off season has cleared his head.

Fascinated to see how Merc and Red Bull have approached the new regs. The big difference this time around is that Honda and Mercedes performance had got closer, so unless one has made a substantial gain, a lot of this could come down to design.

I hope Renault and Ferrari power really lays it down to them too and we have a right old hun dinger of an era, but let’s see how it shakes out.

When the season ended they way it did, Hamilton goes absolute radio silence for weeks, and Wolff has been hinting that he may not return, of course people are going to speculate.

If I were in his shoes I'd have likely rage quit over social media, and then tagged IndyCar for a ride.:p

Wolff is a dick though. He is the one bright spot in the debacle.

Nooo mikey. What ****ing right have you to be so chummy with the race director anyway.

Headphone botherer, that's what he is <laugh>

He definitely should have arranged a test with Indycar, just to make the FIA really sweat.

Of course Horner's "We just need one more lap Michael" was OK. :emoticon-0112-wonde

Nobody should be in kahoots with the race director. That's the whole point. It's an unfair advantage. Hopefully they will change this.

I think there is a balance, the teams should be able to ask for clarification i.e. gaining an advantage and giving place back, but they shouldn't be able to suggest the way the race is run.
In fact the 'gaining an advantage' issue could be solved by better written rules.
I do believe that the discussions between team and FIA should be broadcast to make it as open as possible.

I think any conversations are better not aired tbh. It's just another tool for the likes of Wolff and Horner to influence decisions and opinions.
