Really rubbish draw all-round Not an easy tie for us. And straight forward looking ties for the rest. By and large, Liverpool, City, Chelsea, Spurs, Leicester, Everton and Palace can book their places in the QF already. With us or WH to join them.
Could have been a better draw, could have been worse. Need to be at full strength for this one. This season’s cup draw has been exceptionally kind for the big boys. There is usually a couple of biggies drawn together in the 3rd/4th rounds.
Palace, Everton or Leicester at home. Of course I am assuming a lot, but plotting the path to Wembley all the time! West Ham will be tough, but our home form makes us favourites I reckon.
I would think that if they were 100% fit, they would be first on the sheet, unless there was someone better available..
There are some positives from the draw that I’m taking. So I think this round is a midweek round- Weds 2 March. We should have two extra days to prepare- we play Norwich on the preceding Friday - they play Wolves 2 days later. Plus Wolves are out of the cup so should give them a tough game.
Hopefully the spammers will still be harbouring delusions of Top 4 when we play them, and will rest a few players. Antonio, hopefully
From a Saints POV I'm quite happy with the draw. Of course we were 90 seconds away from having Kidderminster at home so that's annoying. But delighted we've got a home draw. Could well be on TV as well.
Le Saint, you may have cracked it! We're playing lowly Norwich on Friday night, so let's put out the starting team from yesterday against Norwich, and rest our first team players in preparation for the West Ham game. Can't see any problems with that
WH will also have Europa League matches in each of the following two weeks as well. Fighting on three fronts could backfire on them, so it might be that they have the FA Cup at the bottom of their priorities. Especially after seeing the draw today, and hence what could lie ahead of them in the later rounds anyway.
The Itchen North were doing their best and woke up in the 2nd half, the equaliser did the trick and warmed the place up. It's difficult when your usual kop end is randomly spread around the ground. There seems to be a rule for some that in order to show your support that you have to behave like a demented dipstick, there are better ways to do it, but it needs co-ordination. The phone light thing has been spontanious, at least they trying to do something! I was randomly singing to myself "Bless them all, Bless them all, the Long and the Walcott and Small, there will be no commotion this side of the Ocean, if Ralphie keeps playing them all" Being daft as a scrubbing brush isn't exclusive to the eejits!
And everyone loves a Craig Danny. Bless him. I was serenaded by him all the way down Northam Road. I love how the rest of the Coventry fans try and stay well clear of him.
