Totally agree. Last week getting beat 0-2 at HT. Did we make changes. No we didnt. Same again today, same team virtually and did we make changes at HT. No we did not. That Mike Dodds had free reign to start with the new players and see how it went. Still f*cking seething at the inept c*nts.
For me a caretaker should look and think they have nothing to lose and come in and make a fee changes. Instead they think nothing to gain just keep it the same. There is a reason most of these only ever get one or two games between managers.
I don't think so. What other reason exists? Maybe Moyes shares the blame for us getting relegated out the PL but Short takes all the credit for what happened next
That,s only the last five years man, what about Di Canio, Poyet, Advocat and Sam all saved us in the last few games in the prem?
Not sure what point you're making. I stated that Short is the reason we are in this league In the summer of 2017 he received £32.5m in transfer fees and gave Grayson £1.25m to spend. He then put Bain in charge of the club and told him to cut costs regardless of what that meant on the pitch May 2018 and we are relegated without so much as a whimper It doesn't matter what went on in previous seasons and whatever funding he gave to previous managers. He pulled the plug financially in Jan 2017 and it's been a downward spiral ever since
Well **** me that was utterly horrific. No urgency whatsoever. Pissing about at the back. Why the **** did he pick a side like that with zero width whilst having multiple wingers on the bench. ****ing ****e. oh and Gooch can **** off the useless ****.
I dont want to defend Dodds but he is not here to be a team coach. He is about individual player development. He is there to give players the best chance to be make it from u23s to first team and u18 to u23. He will be setting players specific targets and focus areas. He wont have been part of Johnsons team. The fact he was put in charge, in my opinion, is a problem. It should have been Jevons, who has been with the first team. Dodds came in from Birmingham and followed Speakman and I am not sure he has the experience to be a caretaker. It shows how muddled things appear behind the scenes at the minute. We have a head of coaching, an u23 manager, a first team coach, all available but we pick the personal dev coach. This does not represent this seamless setup Speakman is responsible for.
Everything from the owner right down to the bog cleaners were to blame. I don't have this hatred for Moyes. Didn't like him but the tools he had to work with were gradually failing for years. His awful buys were out of desperation and hope. The club had been running on fumes for years. Maybe his negative vibes early on was a desperate attempt to get funds? He must have took the job then realised the mess he inherited from the get go. He should take a share of the blame but there must be dozens of others equally or more guilty.
He gave the managers bloody millions man and then he made us debt free 4 years ago, it's like you giving your mate £50,000 to go and buy you a new car and he get's you a fait 500 and people say don't worry that's Top cat's fault.
today, i expected to see a side that wanted to put that 6-0 behind them and show it was a one off fluke, what i actually saw was much of the same but at least we kept it to 0-2 for a good while. once again i read comments that could basically come from any week of the season, gooch needs to stop thinking he can win it himself and start doing the simple stuff, get the ball and get it in the middle, when he did that he was fine and i am starting to think winchester has actually been taken by aliens and replaced with this bloke who has never seen a football until he was dropped in his place. embo and neil, two lads who fail to perform to a high/good enough standard but that's ok cos they are academy lads, along with gooch they keep getting picked...not their fault but both have shown they have the skills to at least do some damage in this league if not the next so why do they not show it more often? been said many times but leaving ourselves so short in defence was indeed criminal, flanagan was not to everyones taste and had a couple of dodgy games before he went but doyle, for all the lad has done well has looked off the pace for a while now and i still say he was probably not expected to be playing so many games, i honestly think a batth/flanagan combo could have worked, especially with the hoff in goal, i think he would feel 'safer' with a couple of older heads in front of him. pritchard and stewart consistently run themselves into the ground and chase anything, today i think evans had his best game so far but was let down by those around him, clarke agains looked good and deserves a start, matete while not spectacular was nice and steady and looked composed...not sure why roberts is not starting but might it be worth replacing him with gooch, either that or someone takes gooch to one side and gets him to just keep it simple, try the fancy stuff when we are 3-0 up and not before, dropping neil and embo for a game or two and replacing them with clarke and matete, i might be a million miles off but something needs to change or we will be lucky to keep a play off place...
Again, I'm not talking about what happened before we got relegated. I'm specifically talking about the reason we are in L1.
Absolutely. I’m not very observant on tactics , player best positions etc , so leave comment on games to all you who know better - but even I could have coached the bottom team to know that whenever our keeper had the ball - just have one , at most two of your players run near our back four to frighten them as they had neither confidence nor the will to take responsibility to move forward or pass the ball forward - thus giving time to have 8 or 9 players back to cope with our remaining six. When the left back passes to the keeper then remains on the same spot - why does the keeper give it back to him? -surely the pass back indicates he doesn’t want the ball ?
My post stated that the trouble started about 3 years before we were relegated from the premiership, why are you going on about the championship and league !.
Isn't it amazingly sad how supporting Sunderland can raise your hopes so high that the fall down is complete desolation... and so certain to happen.
Really hate to disagree with you mate, but it doesn't bother me a lot at all, give me 5 min to vent and then i'm back to though it's never happened
