Hate football sometimes. Yesterday evening I was buzzing about Keane coming imminently thanks to the ITKs saying it's sorted and his little smirks on tv, and I was expecting a new start of sorts today with the likes of Matete starting.

Instead Speakman says today that we're still casting the net about or words to that effect and the same team is picked and the performance is utter dogshit. **** me.

That trai Hume must be ****, can’t get a game when we have no r/b or c/b. Not a dig at him but he must be thinking wtf have I done with my career coming here and not getting a chance. The 2 in the dugout need to answer a lot of questions about that team and the formation, in fact I wouldn’t ask the question I would kick the twats out before the doors are shut in the stadium.

If appointing Keane was all about setting standards and raising performances this season - it’s not enough.

next manager needs to be somebody with a plan for promotion next season. This season is done. Sorry. We might luck promotion from here but you absolutely cannot plan and statagise for it

As far as I'm concerned it is sorted and the delays are trivial matters that, sadly, have to be addressed.

People at the club are sure it's done but Speakman, etc, have to go through a procedure before they can 'go live'.

I've been told Keane has agreed to come, if I'm wrong for posting that I can only apologise mate.

    Roker Report - Player Ratings
    https://rokerreport.sbnation.com/20...rovers-pathetic-from-dodds-as-lads-lose-again
    Ron-Thorben Hoffmann: 5/10
Has to do better for the first goal, backing off is fine but you’ve got to then stop the shot, unfortunately let it underneath his hand. Did improve and made a pair of double saves.
    Lynden Gooch: 3/10
Played left wing, right wing back and right back in this game and struggled to make an impact in all three. Had one great chance when played through but heavy touch let him down, did put in some good crosses but without anyone getting on the end of them.
    Carl Winchester: 3/10
No idea why we played three at the back in this game or why Carl Winchester started on the right side of that three. Did not look good there, marginally improved second half when at right back.
    Daniel Batth: 5/10
Simple ball over the top of him for the opener cut Sunderland open but did OK otherwise. Had a couple of quickfire chances to score late on, one was well saved and the other was headed wide when he should have done better.
    Callum Doyle: 3/10
Looks like he is struggling right now, guilty of giving the ball away too cheaply at times and probably in need of a rest.
    Dennis Cirkin: 4/10
Started well, finding plenty of space but did nothing with that space. No end product today, despite getting into good positions out wide.
    Corry Evans: 5/10
Looked better when Matete came on, allowing Evans to push up. Scored one and had another attempt with almost the last kick of the game. Otherwise disappointing.
    Dan Neil: 5/10
Another who looks in need of a break. In and out of the game, struggled particularly following the first goal but picked up in the second and had a good shot well saved by the visiting ‘keeper.
    Elliot Embleton: 4/10
Completely anonymous in the first half and although he cut inside and hit the post with a well hit shot in the second half, couldn’t get into the game after the break either.
    Alex Pritchard: 6/10
The one starter who comes out with positive credit. Although we were very, very poor in the first 45, Pritchard was still working hard and closing down and kept that up after the break. Created our goal with a cross/shot in late on.
    Ross Stewart: 5/10
Had a couple of weak headed efforts in the first half, that he probably should have done better with. May have scored in the second but for a combination of the linesman and goalkeeper with the ball potentially over the line.

    Substitutes
    Jack Clarke: 6/10

Was impressed with Clarke when he came on, looked direct and keen to make something happen. Hopefully starts the next game.
    Jay Matete: 6/10
Sat in front of the defence and provided them protection late on, didn’t dwell on the ball too much but did look up to see if there was a forward pass on before passing sideways.
    Jermain Defoe: 6/10
Amazing to see him back in the red and white of Sunderland but wasn’t provided any service, hard to tell on this cameo but his fitness looked OK.

Man of the Match: Alex Pritchard.

The only player to come out of the first half with any credit, industrious as usual but little to no movement around him. Better on the ball in the second half, particularly when a willing runner in Clarke came on. Created our goal and usually involved in our best moments.

Typical of this **** team to piss on all the fans expectations from the last week. We were all buzzing last night and if the players had done their job we'd have had 35000 attendances for the rest of the season.
    Absolute fkn bottlers!

I don’t think Gooch is good enough to start games for us but FFS how many positions does he need to play in, in a short period of time?! It’s no wonder he’s been no good of late.

Finishing in the play-off positions, and winning it, wouldn't be luck and we're more than capable.

We're in the same boat as the likes of Ipswich who thought they'd finish top two.

It's frustrating but the season starts on Tuesday for me.

decent point mate. And things of course could be worse. they shouldn’t be tho.

Even Sheff Wed who have had a disaster of a season are only two points behind us if they win their game in hand.

No need for you (or anyone else) to apologise for passing on info, it's all done in good faith. Even if you were best mates with Speakman you still couldn't be certain.

It's just frustrating because I really want the bloke to sign I think it'll very quickly turn everything round for the better.

Wins in the next two away games and we'll have 35,000 against Wimbledon ...

... if the players can match the support we'll be fine.

It just needs a manager who can stop them bottling a game like today.

You as well any other of the guys who post on here regarding the new head coach have nothing to apologise for! You post snippets on good faith. If things change, that cannot be put down to you

He put in our best cross, best through ball, had two shots on goal and was the only player going past people.

He's not great but, without him today, we'd have been worse imo.

I do believe he’s got plenty of ability but he’s had many bad games this season. Is it any wonder though? He’s shifted around the park constantly man, doing him no good.

I know what you're saying marra - I'm just sick to death of us all being let down by players who don't seem to give 2 fks. I want players who'll run through walls for my team, not tossers who constantly kick us in the balls.
    Fuming!
