Who the **** picked that side today? Absolutely stunk of an LJ performance. Dan Neil is the most over rated player in our squad, also.
Same here pal. I didn’t get excited today as I there was a high chance we’d **** it up. I’m ****ing seething though, that first team was pathetic what is available to us. As good as these back room coaches are at their specific remits, they’re miles away from leading a first team. Speakman must know he has to get on with sorting the new head coach or his position starts looking tenuous.
1st half was shambolic, much better 2nd half but still not good enough. Why wait until 70 mins to get defoe and matete on when we're chasing the game. Matete looked tidy on the ball and put a bit of energy in to the team. As everyone has said changes needed to be made to last weeks team. A caretaker manager is under no pressure as you would guess this would be his only game in charge so why not change it up. Give Roberts and clarke a chance from the start, he had nothing to lose.
As soon as I saw that line up, my positivity drained. Winchester has been **** for weeks, same as Embleton and Neil. play our RB, RB. Drop Embleton and Neil and bring in Clarke and Matete. Sick of this ****ing league man, no wonder we are where we are when that’s the coaching team and set up.
Apart from 15 minutes at the start of that we were utter ****e. Defence woeful. Made Doncaster look like man City at times. And they were ****e!
Still foaming about the team selection. Roberts will regret coming here already… Sat on the bench whilst we’ve got the likes of Winchester and Gooch playing out of position.
I still can't get over that starting line up with so much quality left on the bench. Whoever picked the team needs sacking asap!
I thought Bolton was bad but that feels even worse. Fooking embarrassing shambles. Mrs said last night when I was pìssed an arl excited, "don't count your chickens" . I did say it wouldn't surprise me for us to lose to the bottom team. But then I hoped for Keane in the stands. What the fook must he think watching that ? And surely he did. Jermaine Defoe must be wishing he signed for South Shields FFS. Lowest point of the season. Playoffs at best now surely.
This one was down to the coaches/ bossman. That selection was daft. To choose a team that got pumped 6-0, play virtually the same system, heave a load of gems on the subs bench that get a 20 minute cameo at best and expect cooking miracles after a week is lunacy. I know Speakmann isn't the coach but he s director of football. What does he actually direct? if a manager/ unit business head did that sort of decision making in any company I would be livid. Awful; awful; awful.
Maybe it is Maybe it isn't Don't think that the DoF should / would have had a direct input into training this week or team selection. Should definitely not be involved in the match today, he has delegated that to the coaches and they must carry the can, at least for today.
Think we played 3 at the back but having sold our reserve centre half's had to play Winchester there, so essentially a back 2. Evans doesn't hold the midfield which leads to Neil dropping back to get the ball off the back 4 We dont press from wide and the best player for doing that (djaku) is left on the bench. We make a change and that results in Gooch changing position again. Our no nonsense centre half can't pass water, but we ask him to play out from the back, plus other centre half thinks he's Maldini, but gets caught time and time again
Those 2 in the dugout should be gone tonight, that’s as near as a Johnson team and performance you would get without him. Mates making a statement, fecking atrocious decisions from 2 o’clock when they named the team.
Dare I say the team stunk of arrogance today? It stunk of a team saying “look how many fans we have” and foaming over Defoe and Keane. The club dropped the ball. This might not be popular but this stank of a team / club that saw this result as as good as done
Hes burnt out similar to Doyle, both need a rest but pressure is building on them due to the poor results, its chicken and egg to some extent but its a pattern brought on by pushing players to hard. I could list examples over the last year or two but the long term injuries speak for themselves.
The problem today seemed to be that there are players, such as Doyle, who believe their obvious quality means they'll rise above the likes of Doncaster. That's easily dealt with, if it's one player, but we have Hoffman, Doyle, Cirkin, Batth, Neil, Embleton and perhaps even Stewart who think that. Stewart's first touch is often rotten but he insists on playing intricate 'one-twos' on the touchline. Even if they come off, which is rare, he ends up crossing for Pritchard ffs. Keane can't be announced soon enough tbh.
