Another way to look at it is... Utd wasted chance after chance in the game. But Boro were immaculate with the penalties
While you’re gloating, I have to console a 17 year old who’s in bits. By his age I’d been to an F.A Cup final and won and a League Cup final and lost and got nowhere near a league title......but the glory years were just around the corner. Then back to this s**** It’s painful to watch.
Not gloating mate...just surprised. As for the pain... two league cups, three losing finals, 4 losing semi finals, a losing CL final and 8 losing fa cup semi finals, a 2nd place finish, two 3rd place finishes, and three 4th place finishes is all we've had in the past 31 years! *sigh* But then that's better than other fans get in the prem
My youngest was a proper Jonah. Whenever she came to the game, we lost. I got to the point of considering not taking her anymore. It must have lasted 10 games...and some of them were nailed-on, dead cert wins. Maybe if he switched to city, it might help?
And rightly so. They're a club who have, over the past three and a half decades, totally dominated the domestic scene, winning trophy after trophy - with a few European cups in there for good measure, too. But now they're going on a mini-barren spell having not won a trophy, they're whinging about how 'hard' they have it, and how much it 'sucks to be a Man Utd fan'? Give over. The lack of self-awareness is astounding. How do they think 98% of fans feel? Don't get me wrong, I know their owners are crap and they've been underperforming for the last decade, but any kid who supports that club is still currently watching them splash big money, sign top players, blood talented youngsters, play in Europe & reach finals. I mean, their last bit of silverware was 5 years ago. They reached a final 8 months ago. So, in the grand scheme of things, it's not that deep.
Must be tough for Utd having an iffy decision go against them after 30years of officials rolling over
Reminds me of my school days having to put up with the Leeds supporters who lived in Hertfordshire that followed years later with the Watford scousers that sprang out of the woodwork
Tis self-imposed ignorance of history. They should be looking at the Poool empire, and saying : If the club does not get its act together, we could be in a similar position regarding being persistent PL title contenders (ie 20 odd years from now) .
Both sides were to be fair. Feel sorry for the young lad who missed. Had it been Ronaldo (again) or Fernandes I would have laughed like a drain.
Had Fernandes taken the one they got early in the game, then it probably would've been game over. Got to feed the ego, though.
