It’s all about clean sheets from here for me. Keep goals out and we’ve got every chance. Plenty up top.

17 games to get 38 points. 12 wins should do it (given we won’t lose all the other 5)

    Definitely doable

But they have to win those he's in hand. We've been in the same position ourselves before, noticeably in 2019 when we let the games in hand advantage slip. And then our legs came off towards the end of the season when the cup run caught up with us. I'm not saying they'll both blow up, but we've got both of them to play, Rotherham up here especially, and there's a lot of football still to go before the end of the season and anyone can stumble at the wrong time.

Wigan's next 5 games, very tough....................
    A Sheff wed Feb 8th 1-1 ----------------H Doncaster Sat 5th Feb 5-0 ..........after Sat 56...57 us points
    H Charlton tues Feb 12th 1-1................A Cheltenham tues 8th Feb. 1-2.........57...60
    A Rotherham Fri 18th Feb.. 1-0...............A wimbledon Sat 12th Feb.. 1-2........57..63
    A Wycombe Tues 22nd Feb..1-1............H M K Dons Sat 19th Feb. 2-1..........58...66
H Sunderland Sat 26th Feb..............H Burton Tues 22nd Feb 2-0 58....69 we could build a good gap between us and them before we go there. We need to win the next 5 and Wigan to slip up and take say even 7 points out of their 4 before they play us they would be on 63 us 69. Never catch Rotherham now though.

That's an absolute walloping for Rangers first half. McGregor kept it at 'only' 3

Rangers have been garbage, really missing Gerrard’s presence.

What's going on in the Championship, clubs are falling apart and it's worrying.

The bottom four have won 1 in 20 games between them.

Blackburn are second having won 2 of the last 5.

It's all starting to look like a chaotic scramble to become the next Norwich ...

... more clubs will overspend and stab themselves in the back.

Which is why I'm happy and satisfied with how our club appears to be run now. Don't go chucking mental money at things. It may be frustrating but slow and steady wins the race, hopefully.

Looking forward to the game tbh, should be a proper cup tie. Boro will give Man U a cracking game IMO and will be backed by almost 10,000 away fans.

To me the problems are clubs don't lay any real foundations or lay out any kind of medium or long term plan for how to challenge to get to the EPL, let alone what to do if they get there. They overspend and end up fire fighting problems later or build up teams with loan signings they have no real chance of keeping, so that they may have 1 or 2 good seasons but it isn't sustainable and they fall back. This makes the league itself unstable, so average teams can suddenly appear out of next to no where to challenge for promotion when realistically they are not good enough, and teams that previously challenged can drop like a brick. For the EFL this might seem great and competitive, but really all its doing is dragging the quality slowly down hill. You'd think after yo yoing for a few seasons now that Norwich would have a plan to be more competitive when they get promoted (ala Burnley over the last few years), but they seem happy to go up, get hammered and come back down because they know that they'll be up there challenging for promotion the next season because of how weak the championship is getting. FFP was supposed to help clubs avoid getting into financial trouble, but in reality all its done is make teams more desperate to get up, enough that some will actively look for ways around the rules, because otherwise they'll be stuck there for years, with resulting reduction in revenue.

As you say its a mess, but the EFL really don't seem to care and appear more interested in punishing clubs instead of sorting things out

Genuinely believe Boro will give them a good game. United to just nick it 2-1

Boro are at full strength, certainly not their reserves.
