I hope the new owner invests in the stadium. It definitely needs some TLC. Repainting, the roof fixing etc. Also it would nice to see the stadium modernised.
I’d just love to get to the stage where the east stand could mirror the west stand , it would be an awesome looking stadium because the shape is really something
MK Dons shows how it could be done. Hotel surrounding the ground. Also used as a concert venue. Allams had no vision
I’d be just happy if the words ‘L**ds United’ in big letters were removed from my eyesight on the concourse!
Maybe HCC will want some proof that our new owners will help with investments before giving the go ahead?
As they didn't own the area surrounding the ground it didn't matter whatbvision the Allams had. AP had some ideas but was knocked back.
You would hope that HCC is recognising the buzz around the City with this new connection and want to be part of it...
Valid points. I personally want Acun to shift the away fans and gets our lot behind both goals again.
Is there any chance whatsoever that a properly run, dynamicly promoted stadium could pay for it's own repairs long term?, Adam had it breaking even, so maybe Acun could get things running better again. Who knows now, as it has been mismanaged and tax fiddled for so long. Maybe he could host some Turkish TV stuff over here or something.
It should have been a piece of cake to make a brand new Stadium make a profit, never mind break even, especially if the early routine maintenance was shelved for 'later'.
It’s a ****ing great big banner outside the back of E1/2 with the words from the commentary when we got promoted ‘who’d have believed it…that Ross McC scores for L (****ing) Utd and promotes Hull City etc’…or something like that. Anyway it annoys me. I don’t want to see those types of offensive words in the stadium, and I don’t want reminding that TWS were relevant to it it either. I did actually ask the stand rep (remember them?) to raise it for me…he never got back to me. It annoys me every game …but not quite enough to put my Guinness down and do anything about it.
During half time in a forthcoming fixture you should strip to the waist, put on a Japanese sun-rise bandana, climb up the metalwork and tear down the offending banner - preferably using your teeth to tear it to shreds. Then maybe shout “yippee-kay-yay” or something equally uplifting. Once you are feeling better, obviously.
The stadium is 20 years old and has had no real updates in that time. Boothferry Park had continual investment and improvements in its first 20 years between 1946 and 1966. Its reasonable to start asking about maintenance and improvement plans.
