Seems he had passion and commitment. And yes he improved us. I can't understand the vitriol against such managers or players from some. Likes of rodwell yes, but if someone has given their all you can't ask for more and move on imo. We were so good many times I find it hard to believe how bad we could be on odd occasion. Yes he made mistakes but everyone does. Should we of given him more time ??? This is one reason I think Keane could be a good fit. Most fans want him and if he fails, maybe more forgiving. The three managers you mentioned, and who knows, one or two could actually do a better job overall. But they'll be on a hiding to nothing from the off with some fans imo. If Keane fails speakman can say he was the fans choice
Brilliant that, I expected nothing else though. He tried his absolute best for us and he cared. Some people may say he didnt achieve anything or he doest deserve any credit. I disagree. The style of football he inherited from Parkinson was woeful. He transformed that into something much better, albeit it was still a work in progress. He won a trophy at Wembley. He has created a very youthful side. People will say that isnt his doing, well he is part of the recruitment team. On the pitch we are in a much stronger position than at anytime in the last 5 seasons, and he has played a major part in that. In my opinion he deserves a lot of thanks. People have opinions and that is fine, not everyone will agree. For me he has been a key part, along with KLD, of turning this tanker around. We are moving forward again. History I think will rember his role in what I hope is to come. We have had our share of managers who deserve to be remembered with Disdain, Johnson is not one of those, in my opinion. I wish him well and success in the future. He will be back in the game soon enough and he deserves to be.
I can see your point with that bit. I didn't quite read it in that way but I did think it was a bit incongruous amongst the praise for the people within the club. I suppose it would be odd to not show a little bit of defiance towards the decision to sack him though.
Absolutely superb that, really wanted him to succeed here and he was so very close. No doubt he will go on to be a very successful manager and I'd personally wish him nothing but the best.
You're probably right. The way he communicates has always turned my stomach and this is probably just another case of that.
Feck Johnson, hes in the past now and joins many other negative memories i have from the last 5 years. I hold no anamosity towards him, goodluck to him in his next challenge but ill be erasing him from my mind now.

The fact he's available, has form for promotion and is straightforward could count I suppose. His teams always seem organised and tough so it's a possible. Keane is what the supporters want but he does have a habit of packing his bags. I'd imagine McCann lives local enough as well."
If Keane wasn't an option it would be easier. I really don't like McCann, as a person, but I'm past caring about that tbh. I can see why Keane is a worry, he's volatile and doesn't need the money. The Chronicle are focusing on Keane but I'm a bit suspicious of that, they'd love to build us up for a fall.

I can understand not liking that aspect of him to some extent. Like I've always said, a lot the terminology he used I hear quite regularly from non-league managers, so I interpreted that as him treating the fans as knowledgeable.
