If he's looking for dinosaurs ditch Portsmouth and pay a visit to Westminster , the place is full of them

So is kickoff going to be delayed for half an hour because of the ****ing darts, as tends to happen with everything else on ITV4?

I met Maurice once in the 60s, my dad took me along to the training ground on the off chance of getting some autographs, he stopped his car and got out to talk to us , he had a soft Norfolk accent ( i think ) which felt odd on such a big man

I am pleased to report that Maurice has not died and it was wrongly reported, my apologies for the earlier post and I hope I did not cause upset to anyone
Maurice is unwell and his wife reports that he is still with us

I found this photo on Twitter today Europeancup semifinal v Benfica , my Dad took me to this game I was age 5 , I could not imagine taking a kid that young to a game without seats ,with such importance, my recollection is hazy , all I remember was the noise of the crowd , my dads mates forming a protective barrier around where I stood as we somehow got to the front in the terrace of the west stand

I was at that game too. The photo fills me with nostalgia for what to me was 'the good old days'.

    Bass Charrington <cheers>
My wife’s grandad was a rep for them around this time. The old drip trays, bar towels and mats he got are still around somewhere. He got a beer allowance as part of his salary!
Nice work if you can get it <ale>

    Adults instinctively did that.

When I went to the Bolton 1978 game at WHL (50K attendance) ,
we had underestimated the likely attendance, so our usual
safe spot was full to the brim by the time we got in.

I had to stand at the lower Shelf-side terrace, near the top step level.
The two guys beside me pushed outwards so I had some
space (must have been a bit more uncomfortable for them) all game.

The crowd did not go ballistic when Spurs scored
(as I do not remember getting crushed) . :)

    We did on The Shelf...

...me especially, as my form teacher, Mr Rainforth, was a big Bolton fan and in the away end. Boy, was he pleased to see the back of me when I left that summer...<laugh>
