Great thread RTB as always. Disagree with your team formation. In light of current events I'm going with the following: Ward Simpson Nosworthy Evans Collins Edwards Leadbitter Whitehead Wallace Connolly Murphy Just saying
https://www.safc.com/news/ticket-news/2022/february/limited-hospitality-vs-doncaster-rovers An extremely limited number of hospitality packages remain on sale for Saturday’s game against Doncaster Rovers. The Lads return to Stadium of Light action this weekend and a bumper crowd is expected, as Jermain Defoe makes his highly anticipated return to Wearside. Fellow deadline-day arrival Jay Matete is also raring to go, with the battle for promotion resuming following a busy week in the North East. Executive Boxes and packages in Quinn’s Sports Bar and the Business Lounge are now SOLD OUT. And there’s limited availability in Black Cats Bar and the Montgomery Suite, with all sales now online only. It's going to be busy. {"capacity":35256,"sold":32769,"available":2487,"percentageSold":92.95}
Can they do that - I'm not sure how it works but would the club need to get health & safety certificates sorted for an increase in capacity, they would also need more bar staff, stewards etc. at short notice.
The safety certificate should cover a full house (46k), we could have drawn the Mags at home in the cup and needed to open it all up. I think with Defoe and Keane in the pipeline for over a week or so they should be able to sort it out with the contractors. The catering and stewards are all sub contracted out anyway. One is spoke to the other week said they did the mags match when we were away from home so they must have enough staff on the books.
In all seriousness and putting Keane and Defoe to one side, we need a reaction from the squad on Saturday. Bolton was unacceptable and we need to keep the pressure on the top 2. I'm confident we will do it but I hope the lads have fire in the belly and ice in the head.
Exactly, some arses need a good kicking for that last performance, i hope all the players have been warned.
Being a glutton for punishment I watched our 90 mins against Bolton again last night, my verdict is it wasn't lack of effort by any of our players, one or two individual errors did not help, but a dreadful lack of preparation, planning and organisation by the coaches , set the scene. We were so easy to attack and Bolton accepted the invitation. Keeping it simple was all they had to do. Our back four? was a shambles and if I was to name our formation, observation suggested we played an unsafe or unsure 2/5/3. I am sure we will be better organised against Donny, we have to be.
The best home record against the worst away record in the division. Only going to go one way. I hope the new players gell is all. It will be pretty magical being there.
................ as is often said afterwards '' it's a funny old game'' . But not in this case, we've done enough of that in the past.
great thread RTB i think this story will write itself and could possibly be the biggest victory in Sunderland's history if Roy wants it, and will make his first game in charge go in the record books as our greatest win ever, and could even make him eclips Stokoe as the messiah on wearside. All i can see is a party time day and no body dare piss on this parade
I’ve never ever predicted like an arrogant bastard before but I think tomorrow will be a piece of piss. Nowt against Doncaster but a point to prove, (possible) new manager watching, Jermaine Defoe and a 36k crowd should have us on a high. HTL KTF
If you have a spare half hour, the pre match pod from What the Falk is with a Donny fan. The Donny fan reckons 7-0 to us https://aca.st/5353b0
