Let's not forget this won't all be KLD's decision. There's a leadership group and that probably/will include the likes of Speakman and the likes.
Yes he was very diplomatic tbf...whilst then bigging up Defoe when asked about him later. The interviewer actually said "another one of your former clubs" when getting around to SAFC after initially talking about Celtic, McGeady put him right though.
I agree with every single thing that Simon says tbf. He's covered everything ive tried to say on here in an obviously more intelligent way than i can.
Speakman unfiltered podcast is out now Interesting about 5.5 minutes in he lists "not meeting our footballing philosophy" (I'm paraphrasing slightly) as one of the reasons for Lee Johnson's sacking. He then goes on to talk about footballing style being an issue. Sounds to me like what I personally assumed was our new "style" isn't the one KLD and Speakman wanted...?
Speakman says on process of manager recruitment: Glad the deadline day was in the way to create a break between sacking and searching Speakman is leading the search in conjunction with Steve Davison and Kyril The wider football management team will need to meet and sign off on the manager as they all need to work together (doesn't suggest they have the right of veto)
Friday: Club Announcement - "Sunderland AFC are delighted to welcome Roy Keane back to the club as Head Coach" Sunday: McGeady Departs - "Sunderland AFC would like to thank Aiden for all his efforts and wish him all the best for the future"
Yes. They changed it a while ago. It used to be that you had to interview Alan Curbishley and Alan Pardew.
on transfer window was really tough environment (again) pleased we got a good chunk of business done early pleased with window
Interesting. There's something there doesn't sit quite right. Could just be an excuse for getting rid of Johnson, could be preparing the ground for Keane playing differently to Johnson.
