Neil Lennon hanging round like a bad smell I’d rather have kept Brent than McCann or Lennon. It’s Keane or bust for me
You and felltop may be right, he may fail. And I respect the fact you's don't want him. Just think it harsh slagging him for a decision we know not all the facts. And at the end of the day it was his decision. Anyway like I say I'm not too worried as we have a decent owner anchoring the club now. If Keane comes I'll be happy to jump on board the magic carpet
Took my eye off making home brew over Christmas, had to buy some booze last days off, nearly choked on the price and the taste Thankfully some pale ale I've made, although young was drinkable last night on my first day off from graft
I started drinking stuff like Moretti a while back and stuff like Carling and Stella is a bit of a comedown to say the least
James Hunter from the Chronicle changing his tune this morning and saying basically what all of our ITKs were saying yesterday. No the wonder no one buys newspapers anymore, when all the breaking news stories come here first
The whole point of a forum is to give people who have differing views the opportunity to state their case and I respect and fully understand why you and others like Fell Top have reservations about Keane coming back. Any appointment we make will not guarantee promotion and at first glance Keane doesn't appear to represent what KLD seemed to want to achieve. However, he knows and 'gets' this club and by his own admission is happy to spend his time coaching the players, which is what he will be doing under a sporting director. Whether he can work under Speakman is the million dollar question, but while he is a complex person he is also a great motivator, will give the club a lift and was the last manager to actually achieve promotion at this club, which has got to be the sole aim for this season. Where my opinion differs from yours is that I fully believe that promotion this season is essential, or we risk losing Stewart, Neil and given his rejuvenation, Pritchard. These are all players who will be difficult to replace. Also, a few of the loan players may continue with us in the Championship (Hoff, Roberts and Dajaku could be made permanent). Other loanees like Doyle's parent clubs might see playing for us in the Championship as a good step up in their development. If we fail to get promoted a lot of the continuity will be lost and we will be rebuilding again. That is why I believe Keane is probably the best we can hope for at this late stage of the season to get us promoted.Lets face it, he's got some bloody good players to work with. If he achieves that and fails to stabilise, then we change it, the same as we would if someone else came in and failed at this or a higher level. It's a gamble for us, but which manager isn't? It's also a gamble for Keane. Fail here and his managerial career is probably over. He came here once with no managerial experience and achieved promotion. This time he has more managerial experience, both in the hot seat and as number 2 to O'Neill and he's got as good a chance as anyone of doing it again.
I respect the fact you do want him. He just wouldn't be my choice. And I'll ****ing exercise my right to say so . If I'm wrong about that, I'll hold my hands up and say I was wrong. I think you're spot on about KLD. I know you and I argue a lot on here but you're a sound fella and, even though @Gordon Armstrong was on the wind up, I'd happily have a beer with you if we ever did bump into each other in real life
If we go for Keane, it's an adrenalin shot of a gamble to boost morale and blast us to promotion. Any appointment is a gamble tho, so can see why some are for, some against. Cant see why some say they dont understand why tho?? Let's go for it!
