Obviously whoever we appoint your not going to please the fan base 100%. But the list of realistic possibles won't either. With Keane we are getting a respected player who most of our players will look at in awe and importantly, listen to.
Yes you did I posted a video to Quinn in the states and a link to what mcmuppet said to Keane in Saipan.
Keane has said in the past that what he loves in a player, honest, hard working and professional as that was what he was as player. I've heard him say a few times in interviews that wasn't the most talented player but he made up for that in sheer grit and deterto succeed
I’d be disappointed with any of the other names in the frame. I’m all in with Keane and have absolutely nowt to back up why. Somethings just get you excited and this is one.
If a player doesnt perform he deserves to be called out, they get good money and should not be above criticism, modern day players are too pampered. Keane was a fantastic player and I dare say he took some berating from Fergie, done him no harm either he was a winner.
Imagine right, being so good at your job, so commited and determined, so passionate. And then being called unprofessional by a shìt player like Mick McCarthy
It's been clear as day, even prior to the new ownership, that mentally our teams have not been strong enough. If we are to get over the line this season, it's vital that we have a head coach who is a leader, who can motivate and who can drive the players to give it 100% in everything they do. At this point in time that is more important than the tactical and technical side of the game. These players are good enough to get up. In any case, there's no reason why a coach with the tactical/technical ability can't come in as an assistant head coach, and lead on the sessions. That's exactly what Gerrard and Beale have done at Rangers and are doing at Villa, and its working for them. I honestly think it's a head decision more than a heart one.
I always go on gut instinct, when I read we had Keane I went Whoooo Hooooo! get in, no idea why but I’ll go with it.
Crossed wires I think. I was referring to the video you posted in this post, not the bit about what happened in Saipan And was still referring to it in first bit of the post after that.
I'm definitely nervous. With a character like Keane it's definitely not done till it's done.haway Roy, come back, please!
Yeah they are playing it down slightly so as not to look daft haha Keef saying they plan to also talk to McCann and Lennon
This debate could go on forever mate. Half of us want him back and half of us dont or are very sceptical about it. I dont think its what you say to people sometimes, its how you say it and Keane is notoriously knowing for voicing his opinion in an aggressive manner and very bluntly and straight to the point. Personally if I was spoke to like that on a regular basis from my manager and felt like i was walking on egg shells at my work, it would really start to pish me off and id react in a negative manner. Moving on from us, his record for Ipswich was pretty diabolical, so however he approached things down there didnt work either. Only time will tell if he can become the manager everyone expected him to be after his playing career, but Im one of the sceptical fans.
