Can you imagine the positive effect it may have on our young midfielders especially Dan Neil? Learning of one of the best midfielders and leaders in the Premiership era. Think the young lads will take him on board and respect him and let's not forget Defoe signed knowing fine well Keane was being interviewed.

If he gets the job i wonder if he still makes the players stay at a local hotel on a Friday night for home games. He didnt like them staying with their families apparently incase of any disruptions at home, like players that have new born babies, or horny wives etc that could keep them awake during the night, so he wanted them all together in one place.
I cant remember where I read it, but alot of our players were against it at the time apparently.

  5. The talk amongst the journos is that it will be an initial 18month deal, with a break clause at the end of this season,so,if that's correct, the whole thing would be reviewed before we get into any further longer term contract. Although,if we get promoted,it would be hard not to see an extended deal being done.

I think he needs a good number 2 though, bit like Rooney currently.

Difference between modelling yourself on someone and actually copying that person. We all say that Clough wouldn't last in the modern era, but if Clough was around today he would have been a player in the 80s and potentially a totally different character. Ferguson started off as a disciplinarian and his players at Aberdeen were terrified of him. He took that with him to Man Utd but understood over the years that his methods had to change

If I'd lied about it, yes. Keane should have accepted his bollocking for turning up late for the bus.

I suppose it depends if 20 year old Dan Neil, who was 4 years old when Keane retired has any appreciation of who Keane the player was

I know Carlos Edwards mentioned he wasn't keen on it but understood the professional stance Keane had on things, it was also to do with the fact preparation was exactly the same for home and away games, the same with wearing club suits on match days all came fro man Utd.
I was at Coventry a couple of years back when Mark Robins was manager and I noticed all their players turned up in club suits, that all stems from the ferguson influence

True but the missing training to walk your dog and the erratic attempts at cod psychology are very Cloughian traits. Maybe he has changed and we must assume that he's willing to fit into the set up that KLD has created. We are too quick to write managers off in this country- in Italy and places managers can have repeated 'failures' and not tarnish their reputations. If its a short-term thing and its successful it could look like genius.

It's not about Keane being late for the bus, McCarthy was a player then and mouthed off at Keane questioning his professionalism.
To which Roy replied, "call what you do one touch football". Or something like.

You mentioned Roy Keane walking out and not seeing it through, that was after mcmuppet claimed he faked injury in missing a game being "injured" , ;)

So would you be happy with being called a liar ?

    Your summising Keane was .

Personally don't think that will be an issue. I reckon no matter how old they are, any professional footballer will know of Roy Keane and the type of footballer he was, especially if you are a British midfield player.

Has anybody heard Talksport this morning?
Apparently Gabby Agbonlahor gave both barrels to Keane, slagging off his training methods and the way he speaks to players.

    Im at work unfortunately

Quinny said Mick had been left in charge of getting the players back and would have been a senior player at the time. No, I wouldn't have been happy at being called a liar if I hadn't lied but neither would I walk away from something because of that.
