I would love to think Keane could change and work with our set up but I think the biggest problem is if he does that, that might need him to change the things that made him a good manger

I think the Keane link is a lot further along than people think.

Keane is in the brilliant or disaster category for me.

KLD walked in door last feb we were in play off positions.
We are once again in play off positions this Feb.
I keep hearing about how great our new owner is and how exciting the new set up us but as I said we are no further forward a year on.

I really cant get my head round why so many people want Keane back. Other than a good first season in football management with us, what else has he ever achieved in management?

He wouldn't even move to the NE last time round and spent most of midweek in Cheshire walking his dogs.

    Daily Mail so probably.

Serious question about Keane. I absolutely loved it when he was here last time.
But can't honestly see how he fits in to the current set up.
Surely he would only be a figure head.
He's not a coach and has been out of club management so long he doesn't have a coaching team to bring in
We would have to have a new coaching team underneath him.
Can't really see how it would work.

personally think Keane enjoys the media work way more than he lets on. and he's popping up all the time in adverts so he probably enjoys the money too. and he's making way more at Sky then he'd make here.

Totally agree. The only basis I can see for making this appointment is that he's still a popular figure among our fans. But you can't make this kind of appointment based on emotion. We don't need a figurehead, we need a proper coach. Defoe has been the little sweetener for the fans, now we need hard, rational thinking and adherence to the plan. I think this would be diametrically opposed to everything the club has been putting in place.

When Parkinson was sacked we weren't even in the play off, in fact we were midtable when KLD completed his takeover
Now we are a couple of points off the automatics.

the squad is younger and more dynamic

If you can't see progress then it's because you don't want to
