After being told that the club had had interest from around the world, I'd be disappointed if it was Keane, even until the end of the season. It would be an easier pill to swallow if they were in a position to announce who the full time appointment that replaces him would be.
sorry mate I meant to tag you and @Magnus as well. pleased I’m not the only one that’s heard it’s possible so I don’t look like a dick
Yep and take out time with the next one also if Keano impresses puts him in with a shout of staying but would have to get us promoted but think the crowd/players lift would virtually do that with him in charge
Careful there mate, that post could be classed as a tad positive. You don't want to slip into bad habits!
Yeah this model of recruiting young, talented lads who can grow with the club and allow us to develop the squad up the leagues, coupled with a robust scouting and coaching network that is agnostic of who the Head Coach is makes me ****ING SICK
If I was a betting man I don't think it will be Keane. Although personally I would love it. Characters and good managers do well here..Reid, Keane and Allerdyce etc. I would expect an experienced head coach who would fit into the model..the ownership group all out for promotion this year..that's why contacts saying there going for experience.
Young snd talented lads who probably won’t be here next season! What is this robust scouting and coaching network you talk of? I mean it sounds great but is there any substance to it??
Give me something to be positive about and I will. Sitting 3rd in league 1 having just been walloped 6 nowt off Bolton I can’t say I see many grounds for optimism personally.
Only thing of say is A, he does have experience and a promotion on his record, and B, clearly Dave Jones maintains some influence
Personally, I would go for that. We could get in touching distance of getting up if whoever just sorts of the defence. We still have to play both Wigan and Rotherham and in theory, could take the 3 points of both. They have to play the games in hand and get positive results off them. They're both in the pizza cup semi final against teams they would expect to beat and if that happens, will the players have one eye on the final? There's a lot of factors to think about but I feel and experienced coach would be able to handle the pressure of sorting the defence, keeping a game tight and getting us promoted. Then see what they want to do in the summer
Questions whether he fits into the model as a head coach..his tempremant and has been out of a job for a while.. lots more questions than answers. I'm a huge fan though..and would back it if it happened.
3rd in the league doesn't make you feel positive? What would you prefer? Top with a lead of 20 points? That's not gonna happen mate. Like it or not we're a League 1 team aiming to get promoted and then try at least hold our own in the championship. We hit rock bottom before KLD took over and are slowly dragging ourselves up. If you don't like that, I suggest you head up the road, things might be a bit more exciting for you
