Keane models himself on Clough. When he was here he left training to Loughlan and he was often not involved in training (hence Short challenging him as to where he had been all week) I just think Keane and SAFC had a perfect storm in 2006 - he was still relevant as a player and a personality but half the squad we have now probably only know him as a pundit. I don't think it would work
We do need to use this option at times and I do think we already have the players to play this way, and hope the next coach has the ability to use them when and where necessary, the last one certainly didn't, hence my prolonged criticism of him.
LJ's problem imho was it was obvious at times the 'players were not up for it'. Whether that was because they were confused by constantly changing tactics or playing out of position or lack of a Clatterhard captain etc. It was only the last result (the worst in our history, in my view) that finally tipped me against him.
I haven’t got a clue. I am devoid of ideas. All the names mentioned; might work, might not. I trust in KLD and his due dilligence. It sort of worked with LJ until certain frailties became apparent. Hopefully the next manager will hit the ground running and get us 15 wins from the last 17. Just hurry up will you?
We’ve got Wigan & Rotherham to play, this is massive for us. If we get the appointment right and some wind in the sails, it’s still well in our hands.
The standard in Ozzy may be poor (I’m not saying it is) but if that is the case then it follows that the players Kisnorbo has to work with are also poor. Is an artist who wins a competition with a sculpture made out of clay any less an artist than one who wins with one made from gold? Surely it’s a case of how you use what players you have got? Which is the most successful between a manager who has his team mid table in the premiership with premiership standard players, or the one who has his team top of the second div with second div standard players?
Bit of all three I think, and the signs were there for me at the back end of last season if not before. Just my opinion of course and I respect those that see it otherwise, including Wolfy, Pablo and or The Realist , and I have no idea how many people that represents tbh. Its a confusing world we live in.
Both teams are beatable and despite some saying "Wigan are already promoted" they've dropped 4 pts in their last 2 games. Win our next 5 and go into the Wigan game with some momentum. Let's see how they fare against Sheff Wed, Wycombe, Charlton and Rotherham before they play us.
I think the next 5/6 games will go along way to defining our season and that may be why KLD acted when he did Our next 5 games: Doncaster H Cheltenham A Wimbledon A MK Dons H Burton H Wigan's next 5 games: Sheff Wed A Charlton H Rotherham A Wycombe A Sunderland H There is potential for a big points swing there IF we get things right
Not professing to be ITK or anything...far from it, but someone over here who has connections with certain individuals in the UK has assured me Keane has started a dialogue with Sunderland....please don't shoot the messenger...but just heard this.
