Wood looks a very good short term fix to me. It’s a shrewd piece of business. We stay up - worth every penny of the 25m paid. We go down he will guaranteed fire the goals to take us back up - worth every penny of the 25m paid. I can’t really see a downside. He will retain value of a minimum of 10m if we do decide to offload in the summer. When you consider the money involved in PL status regardless what happens this season, he’s going to be value for money. I actually think he’s a physical presence which will help create room for Max (watch his output improve now with Wood and Bruno in the side), he can provide a superb foil for Wilson if we got two up, when Wilson is fit he gives us a different option off the bench. He helps us finds a way to win for me, which is all that matters. The Chris Woods won’t be in our long term future but he might help us shorten how long it takes to get to it.
