Yesterday I was listening to female and asian/black coppers and ex-coppers who were also victimised, bullied and verbally abused. The thing that came out was when they raised this they were often marginalised and worse still they were gaslit. Like it was imagined and overblown. If they went higher they got lip service and not much else.

I think it's 7 counts of rape, 1 attempted rape and 1 sexual assault... When you've got that amount stacked up on you, knowing that there's multiple dates involved, it's hard to look at him with the whole "innocent until proven guilty" viewpoint. He's ****ed.

I’m sure there are some who join the force with the good intention to protect their communities but there’s also a large chunk of coppers who join because they’re brainless thugs who have a chip on their shoulder and get a kick out of having enormous power over fellow citizens and abusing that power. It surprises me not one bit that it attracts rapists, racists, domestic abusers and other dregs of society into the profession.
Agree and I also think there's a group who are corrupted by power. Being a copper gives them huge positioning over others, both towards their colleagues and subordinates, and also towards the public - and I'm talking about those groups who they hold their bigoted views towards.
