Aye sorry. Was a bit to the point there however, I have alluded to it plenty and it's nice to get some sort of confirmation from the boyo. I mean, lots of people know the craic like. He won't be a miss put it that way.
Agreed. I wonder if he knew before the game. Not travelling with them, not leading them off the coach, appearing to be flat with fans before the game. Maybe the decision had already been made
If that was the case we just threw three points down the drain. If he was finished before Saturday it makes no sense to let him go through the motions on a match day. I personally think the Bolton result was too much to stomach for KLD and he sacked him as quick as he could.
Too many people have said the same thing. No smoke without fire and all that. Doesn’t sound like too many people will be arsed he’s gone, I just hope we get the next one right.
I could understand why many didn't like him, i was neutral as long as we looked like going up. What baffled me was how he collected so many bookings for touchline infringements ,when other managers seemed to get away with far far worse behaviour. It looked like the refs union knew all about him and were ready to stamp on him for anything.
I said the other day that I've never bought into the "Lee Johnsons Red n white army", or the playing up to the South stand ****e. Came across as a little man that would love to dress down a 6'3 centre back infron of everyone. Talk ****e and never backed it up.
Tbf anyone that gives info out in good faith is on a hiding to nothing , especially when it comes to the transfer window . so many things change on a daily basis
Managers will tell you they know the decision is made before they receive the call. Often well before. Warnock says he knew Middlesborough were talking to Wilder well before he was told. Managers arent daft, they are in and around every part of the club and will know. I have only watched the highlights from Bolton but considering he is a walking yellow card on the touchline he did look shell shocked by something. The players too looked like something was wrong, mind you professional pride should have counted for something, they have that result permanently on their CV. They owe the club and fans a huge response, irrespective of who is in charge.
i expected the players to hang him out to dry a couple of months back, but then he pulled things round and I had to eat humble pie. Looks like that was a stay of execution, but there was definitely something amiss at the weekend, maybe the squad had been told who was surplus to requirements heading up to the deadline, who knows? but I think rumours of a bust-up, LJ not travelling with the squad etc. etc. points to a crisis of some kind, and I think they downed tools at Bolton. Lets hope Speakman learns from this and goes for a better man-manager this time. I don't envy him the task.
He mentioned on What the Falk podcast that he was getting a Hessian tattoo cos his missus would go off it if he got a proper one
Funnily enough all the stuff being said about LJ now is exactly what was being said about him at Bristol City
maybe LJ was told afore the match that the owners wanted to see a different performance or he was out...either way it does seem strange for him to be not motivated, if it was me i would be thinking 'if i am for the sack i want to show them i can manage the team' and as mentioned, players should have enough about them and enough pride to not let those results happen. 'tis a strange one and i am pleased i can just sit and call them names when needed and leave them to make the big calls ;D
