Couldn't see its own thread anywhere, thought it probably deserved it? Current odds as of 01 Feb 2022
Wouldn't be surprised to see a left field appointment and someone not on that list. We have links to the city group now and speakman has previously stated he like what red bull have done, so wouldn't be surprised if it was a coach from somewhere like that. Either way after our recruitment under them I'm relaxed that they'll make the correct choice.
I guess we are looking to appoint an experienced interim until the end of the season to get an instant impact (the likes of Warnock) and then take our time and appoint someone for the long term (Farke or some left field names) in the summer.
It was a bit surreal going through yesterday with signing players with the assumingly not knowing who the manager will be.
I posted about him yesterday, but someone mentioned Enzo Maresca on Twitter yesterday. He was at City u23s before going to Parma. It appeared to just be a member of the public making that suggestion though so I doubt there's anything in it.
I am going big, and improbable. Rudi Garcia. Went Marseille just after Mrs Dreyfuss sold the club, but gave a bit to Kyril. So KLD will know him quite well I think. Plays attractive football. Is available. Other than that not a chance In all honesty I wouldnt like to guess. The model would be another young upcoming manager. Someone said yesterday it will be experienced person with promotions.
Going off the club announcement made when Johnson was sacked, it mentioned an interim head coach, I reckon they could go with the experienced "been there, done that" your of manager, someone along the lines of Warnock, McCarthy or Allardyce ( although listening to What the Falk podcast, Tom White says that Allardyce wouldn't drop down to league 1 after talking to him recently)
Not a clue who it's going to be. McCann would seem a safe pair of hands, but I have no idea what sort of football he plays of whether he'd fit in the DOF model Could Gus be tempted back now we have Defoe again? As with other posters, I reckon it's a left field foreign appointment that none of us will have heard of
Would make absolutely no sense to rip it all up, especially as yesterday was the clearest indication of how it works with a DOF. I’d be surprised if it’s a really big name to be honest.
It's comforting to know that we can change the head coach/manager/whatever and the club will continue to run itself nice and tidy. I imagine Johnson was a good person to speak to new and potential signings to help convince them to join, but sacking him before deadline day shows that wasn't important. As for the new manager I'm expecting someone I'm not knowledgeable enough to have heard of.
While I wasn't particularly pleased to see Johnson sacked, the timing of it has allowed the club to demonstrate that the system works in the way that it was promised. Increases my belief that KLD will get us where we want to be.
What a cracking photo that is....look at the smile on his face man. Tells you all you need to know about him coming back.
More than likely and if anyone of that ilk does come to the club they'll have to fit in with that model but I think it'll only to be till the end of the season to try to get us up then look again in the summer. No doubt they've had an eye on someone specific before they pulled the plug
Not sure Gus ever knew how to use Defoe mind. As gor the manager, as long as I'm not picking we have a chance! All happening too painfully often though. We really have no chance unless we get a settled set up, so this one - though we all say it every time - is critical.
i'm gonna take a punt and say young KLD will be taking advice from his Marseille connections and we get someone from that neck of the woods.....Now i've said that prepare for Neil Lennon holding the scarf above his head
@Prehab26 saying on the transfer thread 2 interviews today so they must have a good idea what and who they are after hopefully it moves quickly
