Tbh with you, I think Lascelles may be just as error prone as Clark. I think we hate clark mainly because of his red vs Norwich. I think we will get a CB in though.

Absolutely not. Norwich was an aberration no doubt, but he’s been our worst player this season. That takes some doing with Lascelles in the team. I liked Clark, never been great but was fairly dependable. I don’t know what’s happened this season but he has been horrific. Some of his positioning has made Lascelles look like Beckenbauer. I remember one game at home where we were sat there and they ran through a big hole in the left side of defence when we lost possession. I was scouring the pitch looking for Clark and there he was with his arm up on the left ****ing wing! I don’t know how you go from dependable to that, but he sure as **** has. Him and Lascelles are done. We need two centre backs as quick as we can. Fernandez and Schar are fine.

Willock was astounding at the back end of last season and I don't buy the idea that it was just form. He was being handled well and full of confidence but there was also some great positional awareness and bags of energy there too. If Joelinton is out for a touch then I'd have Willock in even if we get a DM to take one of those roles too. As for defence, our strongest team is surely Schar-Fernandez in the middle but we need strengthening. Honesly 3 players (CDM, CB and a left-sided player) and we'll look so different. I actually really liked how Jamaal Lewis looked at times this season and if we shore up the central areas (midfield and defence) I think we'll start to really appreciate how the boy can play.

That team surely gives us a decent chance. I've been saying for years although we have not really had the players to allow it that Shelvey would be better in a more advanced role, in the middle to put the forward players in. Bruno and Joe both seem capable of doing the dirty work between them. Having said that id probably quite like to see Willock given a go in that position to see if he can rediscover that consistent form he showed last season. He's got more goals in him and also we are not so reliant on Shelvey for dead balls as have Trippier and actually Targett now.
