I’m sure that is the case but I think that says quite a lot - lack of faith in the manager and also a bit in their own ability. And perhaps more the club to bring in enough of them. Because if they had all said yes you would think they would have enough . Lucas Digne instead of Targett Botman in defense. Maybe Carlos (although they wouldn’t pay for him) Presumably Alli was aware of the interest and chose Everton. I’m not sure of the others but think there were more
ASM? Absolutely. Surprised he wasn’t on Liverpool’s radar. But I guess the takeover means he isn’t available for a reasonable price.
Takes time to bed a team, doesn’t happen over night. They will still be in the relegation mix come the end of the season
Doesn’t bother me in the least, the other three more than make up for him. Dan Sheldon is invaluable for his inside knowledge from his close contacts in the club.
It’s more the second point than the first. The guy doesn’t even sound interested in football. But that might just well be that he is really a print journalist who is good enough to have a microphone stuck in front of him for a podcast I think the other thing is that I’m pretty sure he does the American thing when referring to Southampton. I think it is the singular rather than a collective. So he will say things like “Southampton is” rather than “Southampton are”. Perhaps technically correct but it is the whole company vs team thing (and very American in my view). It sometimes catches me oddly
It's not surprising we signed no-one, Ralph and Martin Semmens were having a break away from football tonight.
