For all the money Newcastle are throwing around, they are one serious injury to Saint Maximin away from continuing their struggle. He is their major/only consistent threat going forward, until Wilson returns so even allowing for them tightening up in midfield and defence, they could still have a major battle on their hands, especially if he were to miss key games against sides where he is the biggest difference between the teams.
I think a lot is going to fall on the shoulders of this new central midfielder. Howe can’t organise a defense and the defenders they signed are not of a sufficient class to overcome that on their own And then as mentioned ASM staying fit. He irritates me as he is far too vocal on social media about stuff he shouldn’t be involved in - for example he was making really obnoxious tweets when Romano was confirming that Digne was not joining Newcastle (and of course he was a gobshite about Ralph’s comments on signings made after the postponement - not the domain of a player)

id be surprised if we do sign anyone tbh. The new team that have come in are more than just owners and there will be a big focus on clever recruitment. Summer seems far more likely.
I mean from out looking in, it looks like q quiet deadline day, and obviously smart tino style recruitment will be at rhe forefront and I'm all for that. It's the way ro go. Just thinking tho, usually Adam Blackmore or Dan Sheldon usually report we are done by now..
