I can respect Ekitike feeling that he isn't ready for a move abroad yet. Would have been nice to have him but he wanted assured game time for his development which he is getting at Reims. We criticise young players who take the money to sit in Chelsea's reserves so can't really criticise him for doing the opposite just because we are now on the end of it. Good luck to the lad. Maybe we will be back in for him in the summer.

Not quite true though because we would have to accept a transfer fee which is reasonable. The fact is we have offered a sensible reasonable offer for him to manu and they are not accepting even though he wants to leave. Because it’s us. I appreciate it’s difficult.
We don't know that he didn't. His concerns may have been brought up during negotiations. Then once a fee was agreed we may have made him an offer and asked him to think about it.
