OK, what's the ****ing craic? Targett and Burn done but not confirmed yet? Ekkky boy not happening? Would prefer Lingard anyway innit.
My optimism is that we clearly have money, ambition and a desire to get a forward player. Like Chris Wood, I don't believe Lingard is particularly great. But then the question is "which players can help you survive" and I suppose the likes of Lingard, Wood, Burn and Targett might be enough of a right answer. Personally I think we need/needed a £40-50m striker. If we've got £33m to spunk on the next Ameobi as "one for the future", why not pay an extra £10m for "one for right ****ing now". Some odd negotiations going on.
There's about 5000 players at least who can improve Newcastle United. Bournemouth have had a busier day than we have, and signed two of our alleged targets.
We've bought 2 class players so far and players we needed like wood. Lingard walks into our 11 as does Targett. They've plugged holes on a sinking ship... What were you expecting mate?
