Don't get me wrong, I'd much prefer the finished article with our current position, but even though it's a luxury I see it as good business to get in a few prospects too.
They've 100% added a Toon Tax. Money will eventually talk and our owners have been smart in not falling for it. Still think £25m for Wood sent all the wrong signals, mind. I mean Palace can't seem to buy Nketiah either - I think that one's due to the fact Arsenal actually need a forward anyway, so if they can't get one they may need Nketiah around.
Yeah, I'll disagree here when we're talking £33m - you should be getting something pretty ready to go at that point, not a punt. We do need a sustainable model of bringing in younger players, but we need to be signing the likes of Ekitike when he's 17 and £1m. Just feel £33m is a hell of a punt. But maybe he's a special talent, who knows, I don't exactly watch Monaco week in week out.
There is a real chance Arsenal plummet like a stone next year without drastic change. All the players their failing to get in and all the players leaving.
Then the tears would be ours in summer if we weren't allowed to buy anyone!! Its got to be a balance.
Well I'll trust the people looking at the numbers and the fact FFP is fake anyway 33ms is nowt these days we're the richest club in the universe
On FFP, put it out your heads, it's meaningless. We have no decent sponsors, stadium naming, training facilities, etc., and have three years to claw anything back if we overspend. You're talking about £250m-£300m straight off the bat.
Arsenal obviously don’t trust their young lad to step up in PL matches They see him in training all the time so you gotta wonder what they don’t like about him The lad from Riems? No idea
